Zaydrean Jackson won’t scare you off the bus, but he was easily one of the top pure coverage guys at camp, even without ideal physical traits. He is still a younger, so he has time to get bigger. Regardless, he plays with quick, patient footwork in coverage and did a good job dissecting at the top of routes. He was scrappy at the point of attack, something that will be needed to compensate for his size. Jackson was a stock up performer and stepped up when competition mounted.

A promising Atlanta-area defensive back who is already ranked as the No. 5 DB prospect in the state, Jackson had a terrific outing this weekend at the latest Prep Redzone camp and shined in coverage, winning most of his reps that he took. He shows quick feet, change of direction, and had one of the fastest “L-Drill” times with a 7.0, showing impressive quickness, burst, and balance. He was one of the top defenders at the camp and is bound for a really strong sophomore season in 2025.

A versatile, ball-hawking defensive back who can play safety or cornerback, Jackson saw the field at both the JV and varsity level this past fall and shows the ability to play the ball down the field in coverage while being able to deliver a sound hit on the ball-carrier. Playing on an extremely talented Douglas County team, look for Jackson to make a bigger impact next fall as a sophomore. He brings a lean frame, and as he continues to add weight and develop his craft over the next several months, Jackson could turn into one of the better 2028 defensive backs in the Atlanta area down the road. He’s a young defensive back to keep a close eye on moving forward.
