Ricky had a strong game on both sides of the ball for the Patriots. Ricky had a nice catch on a seam pass for a touchdown in a dominant first half. Defensively, the Patriots allowed less than 50 yards passing while the starters were in the game through three and a half quarters. Ricky was all over the field though, recording a pass breakup and a tackle for loss on a play where the Patriots front 7 flushed the quarterback on a long scramble play. I spoke with Ricky after the game.

One of the fastest-rising prospects in our rankings, Myers made a massive leap from outside the top 250 to inside the top 150. Despite being injured for much of the spring, he’s competed in multiple camp settings and has brought an alpha mentality. His speed, agility, and versatility give him a strong chance to be a late-riser on recruiting boards.

Ricky informed me he was battling a minor injury coming into the showcase, and the fact that he played through it told me all I needed to know from his mindset as a player. Everything I’ve seen from Ricky last season – from being named All-Conference, the speed and agility, and his work ethic – those things were on display once again here at this showcase. We moved him up a good bit in our state rankings update as a result of those things. Ricky earned an offer from Concord University after his showcase performance.

Playing on a defense full of talented players, Myers still stands out on film. He flies around the field and can play multiple spots in the defensive backfield. What impresses me the most is his strength and physicality, as huge numbers in the weight room translate to the field of play. He has long arms and is a guy we think could take another step forward in the near future. We’re excited to see his development.

. definitely fits this definition also. Ricky was named an All-Conference player this past season. Ricky was also named the Specialist Player Of The Year for the Southwestern 4A conference. Those accolades are well deserved. Ricky excels as a cover corner – he has great speed to keep up with the best of wide receivers, as he often played well against some heralded receivers, and got a lot of looks because he had a college-level corner opposite of him. Ricky has had some college interest, but I think it’s absolutely insane that no one has offered him yet from what I can see. I’m proud to have him on our Junior Bowl team.
