The most impactful DB on the East Team, I think, was Elijah. He came up and did a good job in run support on several occasions. His most memorable play was a near interception on a 3rd down pass outside the hashes. Elijah was matched up in man coverage and broke on the route very quickly, and got two hands on the pass breakup. I think overall, Elijah is underrated in a lot of people’s eyes, and he showed he belonged with the best in Charlotte in this game.

Elijah is a fast and athletic safety who can excel in both run support and pass coverage well. In run support, I like the way Elijah gets to the football so fast and with bad intentions. Elijah also does a good job of tackling in space, showing the ability to get ball carriers on the ground in solo tackle situations. Elijah has some college interest, and I think he has a future playing college football for sure.

After a solid junior season, Sellars has really impressed on the camp circuit this spring, including an impressive showing at the CFI Showcase. In a class lacking truly technical corner prospects, Sellars has the versatility to play any position on the back end and his patience and discipline in coverage really show through.

I have been high on Elijah since seeing him in action as a sophomore, and he had a really good day as a hybrid safety/cornerback prospect. I thought Elijah showed good patience in coverage and did not do a lot of holding/grabbing, which is more than I can say for most of the defensive backs I saw in attendance competing in one-on-ones. Elijah played with good technique and showed some nice ball skills when breaking on the football. Elijah picked up an offer from Concord University after the showcase.
