Peyton Floyd Peyton Floyd 5'11" | 175 lbs | QB Hewitttrussville | 2024 State AL was a quarterback at Hewitt Trussville that really impressed us a ton over the last few seasons, and this week, he made an announcement regarding his future collegiate career! Floyd is a super accurate passer, delivers with fantastic anticipation, and has the arm strength to really stretch the field as well. All throughout his career at Hewitt Trussville he was a dual threat quarterback that could equally hurt you with his legs as much as with his arm, he provides a really unique skillset to his offense that allows him to move the ball very effectively. Last fall Floyd put that skill set on full display with his 2613 passing yards and 26 touchdowns in the air, as well as his 930 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns on the ground. Floyd had a lot of suitors in his recruitment process but made the decision to commit to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College yesterday! With the program they run down there, he’s going to be a huge asset to them.

Peyton Floyd Peyton Floyd 5'11" | 175 lbs | QB Hewitttrussville | 2024 State AL completed 13-of-17 passing for 240 yards & 4 TDs, 19 yards on 7 carries & TD vs Chelsea. Floyd shows above average athleticism. He moves in the pocket well, he’s very good at escaping pressure. Floyd can run, but he’s not looking to run, he’s always looking to throw. He can throw on the run well and he had to show it often as he was under almost constant pressure. Floyd regularly escapes that pressure in the backfield like a magician, finds the open receiver, and throws a beautiful competition while multiple defenders close in on him. I’m confident Floyd can play behind any offensive line and be successful.

Peyton Floyd Peyton Floyd 5'11" | 175 lbs | QB Hewitttrussville | 2024 State AL completed 17-of-21 passing for 161 yards & TD, 256 yards on 21 carries & 5 TDs vs Vestavia Hills. Floyd displays the strength, balance and athleticism necessary to make throws while on the run. The game of football is transitioning to whereby quarterbacks that don’t possess mobility are being quickly phased out and Floyd has plus movement skills and quick feet. I really like his ability to run the ball as he shows terrific elusiveness.
I saw him often beat defenders with any combination of speed, jukes and even brute strength at times. He has shown often on film that he does possess arm strength and accuracy necessary to succeed at the next level as well. I love Floyd seemingly ability to play fearless and he doesn’t appear to be afraid to be aggressive when throwing into tight windows or double coverage down field.

Additionally, Floyd has a great touch on his passes and can float the ball with precision to throw receivers open. His ability to drop in passes with optimal ball placement leads his receivers and beats quality coverage with the location of his passes. Along with his arm talent, Floyd is a remarkable athlete and has the capability to pick up yards on the ground. He possesses the feet and agility to evade pass-rushers and extend plays while also being able to pick up yards. Floyd’s speed is faster than most quarterbacks and can take advantage of defenses with his mobility. He can read the field well and work through his progressions to find the right receiver.
