Floyd’s freshman campaign has allowed him to climb the rankings, and it should be no surprise. His debut as a varsity QB flashed potential as a top-tier dual threat in his class. While leading his team, he seemed to thrive in unideal situations, handling pressure, creating throwing angles, and using his legs to buy time. With a quick release ability to deliver off-platform, Floyd has the foundation of a backfield creator who can break defenses’ backs on a given play.

Outside of his refinement, he showed toughness when using his legs on scrambles and designated runs. He embraced contact, sacrificed for first downs, and didn’t shy away from the physicality – which is rare for QBs. Though his coaches will have to preserve him through the season, that kind of leadership rubs off and is why he’s someone to keep an eye on as the season approaches.

Floyd was one of the most highly productive freshman players in AL last fall, regardless of position. He handles QB duties for Hewitt-Trussville, but a long-term projection as an athlete is certainly in play. He has a quick release and impressed with his accuracy and efficiency as a passer last fall. He is a true game changer as a runner, both in the scramble and by design. He has the speed and twitch to break down defenders and separate, but also the low center of gravity and temperament to drop his shoulder and invoke contact. Regardless of where he ends up long term, Floyd has a prolific HS career in front of him.

Floyd is a tough quarterback who with a level of maturity beyond his age while galvanizing his troops with competitiveness . He remains accurate under pressure and is willing to take hits to deliver the ball on time. His ability to maintain mechanics and placement on off-platform throws and moving pockets on either side keeps the chains moving and the offense on schedule.

Floyd has also shown he can win with touch and intermediate accuracy, especially in goal-line situations. In addition to his shiftiness and elusiveness, he’s a dual-threat playmaker capable of extending drives and creating big plays with his legs when the pocket collapses and one of the names to look out for in the 2029 class.

Jack is a thick signal caller who can get it done in the air as well as the ground. He makes good decisions with the football and has solid tape of completing most routes on the tree. Rolling out or being flushed from pocket doesn’t seem to affect his accuracy that much. When running you can see him tap into his running back skills by outrunning defenders to the corner or reading his blocks to zig zag inside to an eventual big gain.
