Farrell didn’t pass the ball as much as last year but the unquestioned leader of their receiving core was Nick Souffrin Nick Souffrin 6'1" | 190 lbs | WR Monsignor Farrell | 2024 State NY . He didn’t have eye popping stats but his 424 receiving yards were big for Farrell in their successful season. Souffrin is a polished route runner and was one of the most reliable receivers in the entire catholic league. He has an offer from Wagner and just picked up another one from St. Anselm.

The top receiver in all of Staten Island will be relied upon heavily this upcoming season. He led Farrell in yards and I could see him being one of the top players in that category for the entire catholic league this season. He has impressive run after catch ability and his smooth route running will guide him to an even bigger senior year

The returning receiving yards leader at Farrell landed the number three spot in our vote for preseason player of the year. He was able to get just under 6,000 overall votes. And it makes sense because he is one of the most reliable wide receivers in all of New York. And now gearing up for another season with quarterback Christian Pinto, you can expect a big time year. I’m very high on Monsignor Farrell as a whole, but I’m a big believer that Souffrin will be a reception machine this year. He is a good route runner with a nice first step to help create separation. His hands were great last year and he did an awesome job hauling in passes in traffic. Making plays down the sideline will be a theme for Souffrin as well. I like him to come away with difficult catches and be very productive this season.

The lone New Yorker on today’s list, Souffrin repped his borough to the death. Souffrin succeed as a deep, vertical threat from what he put forth at the Showcase. He was adept at winning fade routes, as it was something I noted him do on a few occasions. Souffrin also showed that he can run both regular and skinny posts successfully. Needless to say, if your number is called often for deep routes, you have great ball skills and can track its flight well. Similarly, Souffrin looks to make grabs with his hands, thus extending his catch radius and playing “keep away” from defenders trying to bat the ball or play his hands.
