Marvanous is the epitome of the athlete position. Put him on offense or defense. Either is fine with me, just get him on the field. Butler-Brown is blessed with outstanding quick feet and loose hips that allow him to set up DBs and run crisp routes while playing receiver. His speed puts a lot of stress on DBs, forcing them to give him a cushion that he quickly erases when stretching the field. The senior is also very good with his ability to track the ball and find ways to adjust last second to make the catch. On defense you can put him out at CB and let those same traits shine as he locks down a slot receiver and creates turnovers. I’m pumped to see where Marvanous commits. He put together a fantastic senior season.

Stats: 8 Receptions, 160 Yards, 2 TDs
Butler-Brown actually was a solid impact on defense as well, but he was so dominant on offense that that is where I want to focus. Marvanous repeatedly proved his deep threat potential with his 10.8 100M dash speed to take the top off the defense. He was able to easily get behind the defense and leave CBs trying to catch up as he hauled in over the shoulder passes for long TDs or huge chunk plays. I loved the way he could easily and quickly find the ball and his body control and agility allowed him to easily adjust to the flight of the ball. After the catch the senior was able to either sprint away from the defense or use his agility to elude a defender and open up space for him to make a play. Coaches, you need to check out the senior WR/ATH.

Coming out of Catholic Memorial High School, one of Wisconsin’s top producers of talent in recent cycles, standout rising senior athlete Marvanous Butler-Brown continued to show that the Crusaders breed top-end talent with a great showing on the track this past outdoor season. Butler-Brown PRed with an explosive 10.81 100M at the WIAA D2 sectional in May, along with a 10.96, 10.95, 10.94, and 10.89 this spring. He also went 23.04 in the 200M. So far, Sioux Falls, Concordia-St. Paul, and Northern State have sent out DII offers, but the speed screams D1 ceiling and upside, as does the competition, coaching he’s received at Catholic Memorial, and
A RB, WR, get-the-ball-in-his-hands offensive dynamo, Butler-Brown is a deep threat as a WR who tracks the ball well in the air and accelerates out of his breaks, creating separation at the top of the route with ease. He also displays big play speed and burst, showing that if he gets the sideline or a shred of space it’s game over, and I’m impressed by his quick feet, balance, and shiftiness in the open field for an overall explosive and elusive skillset. Plus, he will run behind his pads and has some pop for a smaller ball carrier. Talk about track speed translating to the gridiron! I think Missouri Valley and FCS programs should take a hard look at the rising senior speedster, he’s got some serious game.

One of the biggest steals in the state is from powerhouse Catholic Memorial. Marvanous Butler- Brown Marvanous Butler- Brown 5'9" | 170 lbs | ATH Catholic Memorial | 2025 State WI is an excellent athlete that will provide a college program with a mismatch out on the perimeter, and it could be on offense or defense. From the slot we see a lot of safety coverage on Marvanous. His acceleration erases the massive cushion he usually gets the long speed leaves them trying to keep up. Butler- Brown has solid vision with the ball in his hands as well and when he meets a DB one on one in the ’25 has the advantage with his slippery agility. Marvanous’ speed also allowed him to be a playmaking safety in 2023. He roamed the field, making plays on the ball and making tackles. Butler- Brown holds two offers currently.

This article contains several athletes who I an expecting to put up eye popping testing numbers. One of those athletes in particular is the Catholic Memorial two way standout, Marvanous Butler- Brown Marvanous Butler- Brown 5'9" | 170 lbs | ATH Catholic Memorial | 2025 State WI . The 5’9″ 170 lbs DB/WR plays like a gifted athlete. The speed instantly jumps off the tape. Especially at WR where they get the ball to him in space and let him simply outrun the field. Whether it be end arounds, quick passes, or let him get behind the defense on deep shots. Marvanous also has very soft hands that reeled in some impressive catches on the sideline and through contact in 2023. The speed is verified already too, and I can’t wait for him to show it at these camps. In his most recent track meet the speedster broke 11 in the 100M with a time of 10.89 and bringing home first place.
On top of the exceptional speed, the junior is also explosive in short areas. That is key to his route running, being able to burst out of breaks. It also makes him very dangerous with his lateral cuts/jukes when he has to make DBs miss in space.
On defense that speed flashes every play as he is able to read and cover so much ground. That leads to a lot of PBUs and INTs off jumped routes. Marvanous is going to prove to be an explosive athlete this summer.
