We are going to be adding a ton of new athletes to the Class of 2028 rankings these next few weeks, but even with that I have high confidence that Khalil will be one of the biggest risers in the update. The OLB spent this past month proving to be such a special athlete at the position. He has a very well built frame for the position, and is able to fly around the field with it. His acceleration, balance, and change of direction allow him to be right at home playing in coverage out making 1 on 1 tackles out in space. The dominant ’28 LB can also flip a switch, get downhill and use his power to get off blocks to either pressure the QB or stuff the run game. You don’t find many LBs who can cover, rush, and set the edge. Khalil is well on his way towards proving he is one of those types of talents. Big things ahead for him.

Another outstanding DL/Edge performance at the River Falls camp came from Catholic Memorial 2028 Khalil Jones Khalil Jones 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB/EDGE Catholic Memorial | 2028 State WI . The athlete is coming off a strong sophomore season, setting the stage for a big junior season. His testing numbers have me even more amped up. They are as follows:

The results solidify what the tape shows. Khalil is a dynamic LB that you can play in several spots. We see him primarily at OLB for CM and making a ton of plays in space. The 2028 is so explosive and agile with the quick feet to be able to corral RBs and WRs out in space. That speed comes in handy when he rushes off the edge too. Speed that has had him meeting the RB barely after he gets the handoff in the backfield. Khalil is turning himself into a legitimate three down LB that teams need to have high on their radars. A big junior season is on the way.

An athlete I have had on my radar but haven’t been able to see until this point was 2028 LB Khalil Jones Khalil Jones 6'1" | 210 lbs | LB/EDGE Catholic Memorial | 2028 State WI of Catholic Memorial. Looking through the results of the day the incoming sophomore put together a great base to continue to build on over the next three years. He ran a 4.97 40, 4.46 shuttle, jumped 8’5″ in the broad and 31″ in the vertical. All while playing at 6′ 200 lbs. At this point, Jones is at his best working in tight quarters. He works through traffic really well and has that lateral burst to make OL miss on his way to filling in run support. Even as a freshman he was able to make some impact on a State Championship qualifying varsity team. I can’t wait to see his role continue to grow this fall. Get this kid on your radar early on.
