*Steal of the summer! Code Johnson30 saves you 30% off a Prep Redzone subscription*

We are back for more Minnesconsin coverage and more coverage of the Freak Shows that came out to compete. We already covered some of the freaks at the skill positions. Now we turn our attention to the freaks in the offensive and defensive trenches. The big fellas that have found ways to succeed on Friday nights, and at camps, with their college worthy athletic tools. Today the spotlight not only shines on their combine numbers that were among the best of their positions, but we also are going to look back at their 2025 tape to see if those athletic tools translate to the gridiron. Coaches, the 2027s listed in this article are uncommitted, so don't miss out on them! Let's dive in!

This performance is actually what put Atticus on my radar, and I'm really like what I saw on tape when I went back to review it for this article. Atticus' River Falls performance was definitely one of the best among DL:

5.08 40 Yard Dash

4.75 Shuttle

8'10" Broad Jump

27.4" Vertical Jump

While watching through the highlights from 2025 for the first time it quickly became clear that the traits definitely translate to the field. The 2027 DL is so quick. While he was only 6' 200 lbs the tape shows Atticus having quite a bit of success on the interior. He is able to rely on his quick first step and acceleration to be able to slip through gaps and into the backfield. Once he breaks the line Atticus has the speed to chase down the ball and end plays very quickly. The '27 DL is looking for his first offer. Give him a look.

We have been well aware of this freak show out of Racine Case for 3 years now. Everywhere this kid shows up he dominates OL with his blend of speed and power. Minnesconsin was no different with the '27 DL posting:

6' 256 lbs Frame

5.08 40 Yard Dash

4.71 Shuttle

8'10" Broad Jump

31.7" Vertical Jump

I wanted to list the frame because London has spent his career being undersized in the trenches, but not letting that affect his game at all. Now he has a more effective frame, and he still hasn't lost the tools that have gotten him his success. The DL mixes power and speed perfectly. He can change pad levels quickly, and his hand use is so dangerous for OL to face. On top of that, London has the powerful first step and ability to turn speed to power. He can win with speed. He can win with violence. London holds offers from Drake, Butler, and Olivet Nazarene.

An OL who has been putting together a great offseason overall put on a show at Minnesconsin. Edgewood's [player_tooltip player_id='2236207' first='Gavin' last='Subera'] has earned offers from River Falls, Duluth, St. Thomas, Jamestown, Sioux Falls, Winona State, Upper Iowa, Whitewater, and Bemidji State. Plenty of options for the OL who posted:

6'7" 248 lbs

5.1 40 Yard Dash

4.87 Shuttle

8'4" Broad Jump

26.3" Vertical Jump

The testing numbers definitely translate and then some when it comes to Gavin. The '27 has an elite frame with so much room to pack on the lbs and the strength at the next level. On tape the big man brings elite range to the trenches, easily getting up to level two almost before they finish their read steps. Gavin is no pushover in the power department either. He has great body control which allows him to sink his hips and get underneath DL and the leg drive to run them off the line of scrimmage. Gavin is an extremely well rounded athlete with a very high ceiling. He is going to debut very highly in the summer rankings update.

Another solid performance came from the Edge defender out of DeForest. [player_tooltip player_id='2236782' first='Brody' last='Schmidt'] is new to my radar, but the incoming senior was able to put together a good showing that sent me to look at his tape for the first time. But first, his combine numbers were:

5.18 40 Yard Dash

4.97 Shuttle

7'7" Broad Jump

29.3" Vertical Jump

Brody is coming off of a 7 TFL, 5 Sack junior season with an additional 28 tackles. We label Brody an edge or DE because of his size, but the 2027 actually played a lot on the interior. He was able to get penetration from a mix of a high motor, some flashes of impressive strength to shed OL aside, and primarily with the quickness to get off the line and get skinny through gaps. He holds an offer from St. Norbert's currently.

A 2028 DL who was able to catch my eyes with his testing results was Bay Port's [player_tooltip player_id='1709828' first='Jackson' last='Mumme']. The 2028 DL is now 6'1" 219 lbs following an offseason of wild weight room growth featuring a 70+ lbs squat increase, and 90+ lbs deadlift increase. On the field, Jackson's results were:

5.31 40 Yard Dash

4.78 Shuttle

8'2" Broad Jump

26.2" Vertical Jump

In 2025 Jackson played a mix of varsity and JV. Knowing the weight room improvements in his lower body has me excited for Jackson's 2026 season. He was already winning with a quick first step, lateral agility, and being able to shrug off OL when he was in position to only have to beat half a man. Now even stronger we could see him take a step forward in his development and production. I'll definitely be watching to see how his impact grows this season.

Another newer athlete to my radar is the 2027 OL/DL out of Cedar Grove- Belgium. The 6'1" 223 lbs athlete put together really good numbers for the OL/DL at the River Falls camp. The All Region contributor and 3 year varsity starter posted a:

5.37 40 Yard Dash

4.79 Shuttle

7'10" Broad Jump

25.6" Vertical Jump

Obviously Noah plays undersized for the typical OL, but that has far from hindered him while piling up three years worth of varsity starts to this point in his career. Along with the OL success, Noah also had 46 tackles, 10 TFLs, and 4 sacks in 2025. A lot of his OL tape highlights his athleticism. The range to pull across the formation or even beyond that and land key blocks on LBs and DBs. The 2027 also packs a punch, making several pancakes with his initial contact. I love the athleticism and tenacity he mixes together on the field. Don't overlook this one.

Another outstanding DL/Edge performance at the River Falls camp came from Catholic Memorial 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='1695152' first='Khalil' last='Jones']. The athlete is coming off a strong sophomore season, setting the stage for a big junior season. His testing numbers have me even more amped up. They are as follows:

4.82 40 Yard Dash

4.47 Shuttle

8'7" Broad Jump

30.9" Vertical Jump

The results solidify what the tape shows. Khalil is a dynamic LB that you can play in several spots. We see him primarily at OLB for CM and making a ton of plays in space. The 2028 is so explosive and agile with the quick feet to be able to corral RBs and WRs out in space. That speed comes in handy when he rushes off the edge too. Speed that has had him meeting the RB barely after he gets the handoff in the backfield. Khalil is turning himself into a legitimate three down LB that teams need to have high on their radars. A big junior season is on the way.

We wrap this article up with an explosive 2028 DL out of Sauk Prairie. The 6'1" athlete has filled out that frame this offseason, checking in at 226 lbs in River Falls. The testing results were really strong from the dynamic DL:

5.17 40 Yard Dash

5.00 Shuttle

8'7" Broad Jump

32.8" Vertical Jump

I love how well these numbers match his tape. Especially the jump numbers. Jameson is an explosive short area athlete. He comes out of his stance quickly, and equally violent. We see him turn that burst into power naturally because he seems to do everything with violence. Violence needed to be an impact in the defensive trenches. The defender is another 2028 here in WI that should put together a huge junior season.
