Admittedly, there is not much newer tape on the Pope John Paul II quarterback, Luke Taleski.That being said there is promise of what is available for the Royersford native. He has an ideal frame at 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds and will be able to add another 20 to 30 pounds on his frame before he plays at the collegiate level; which will make an opposing quarterback and behind center. He has not necessarily had the opportunity to show his abilities on a consistent basis, due to playing in a run-heavy office at PJP2. That being said, this dual sport athlete, who is also a very good baseball player, has the skill set and tangibles to be a productive quarterback at both the high school and collegiate levels. I will be very interested to see if he has any camp dates set up for the spring and summer as those camps will become all the more important for him with the lack of overall tape as a junior. Very excited to see what he can do in a senior season at PJP2. But may have to ultimately choose between baseball and football to pursue at the college level. As a quarterback he shows quality arm strength, vision, and accuracy. Overall, it really just comes down to getting an opportunity to see more of Taleski and his abilities due to the offense that he is in as well as the lack of any extended junior highlight film.

Orchestrated the offense to a tee. Despite how much of a fan I am of Terlesky’s skill set, PJP2 is dead-set on running the football. Can’t say I blame the coaching staff, running Mitala, Skarbek, and other young talents behind a talented OL, why deviate from that working formula. Thankfully, PJP2 has a quarterback prospect that can step up to the plate if called upon, no pun intended. Like his ability to process information/reads. Terlesky wasn’t asked to do much in the game I attended against Judge, he also doesn’t have a mid-season tape out yet, so this eval/update is a bit lackluster.

Top three potential, the first quarterback to place inside the Top 100. A tick under 70% completion percentage last Fall. 2,000+ yards through the air under his belt, with 20+ total scores to his name too. If you set quarterbacks by tier, I’d argue Terlesky breaks off into a new tier above the passers ranked beneath him. Love his throwing motion, consistent and replicable too. Not necessarily the fastest, but clean and helpful against pressure. Terlesky is a big kid who certainly excels within the pocket, yet his tape shows off some off-platform throws in situations where he’s forced to move his launching point. Leads corner and seam benders well in front of his wideouts. Blends caution and confidence well when making downfield decisions. There’s a lot to like pre/post throw. More people should be in on this kid.

The 6’4, 195-pound quarterback led his program to a 10-2 record, a performance that landed him a top-ten debut at his position. 2000+ yards accumulated on 68% passing, throw in 22 total touchdowns and you’ve got a potential star in the making outside of Philadelphia. Love how quickly Terlesky gets rid of the football. He’s decisive in the pocket, there’s a clear process he’s going through post-snap that leads to him delivering the ball accurately and in a timely fashion. Comfortable throwing off-platform or off back foot. A multitude of routes thrown. Mobile enough to escape, reset and throw on the go. Does a good job keeping a good base while hardly having feet touch. Some work to be done getting his release quicker, yet it’s consistent in each rep which is a plus. A ton to like about Terlesky, hope to see him ball live next Fall.
