I’m not sure how a player of this caliber has fallen through the cracks this far into the ranking process. Green has been targeted six times through three weeks and has yet to surrender a touchdown from his cornerback position. Offensively, he has recorded more than 10 catches and two touchdowns while helping his team jump out to a 3 0 start.
Green posted a three minute first three game tape on Hudl just one day prior to the release of this article. He returned an interception for a pick six, which is actually the first rep on tape. Green trails a presnap motion matchup across the field, stays disciplined in the flat and intercepts an out route before taking it the other way. There is little standing between him and the end zone outside of a would be tackle from the quarterback.
I love the way his tape is constructed. There is plenty of man coverage, plenty of off coverage and some work directly at the line of scrimmage. There is a lot to like about Eric GreenEricGreen

strictly from an outside the numbers, boundary cornerback perspective. He is an aware player who is not afraid to contribute in run support. That same awareness and toughness show up when reacting to hitches, swings and stop routes, where he does a good job limiting extra yardage after the catch.
The third rep on tape showcases Green’s fluid feet and pestiness near the line of scrimmage, eventually resulting in a blown up screen. He looks most comfortable in off man coverage, as most high school corners do. He can work as the lone corner to one side with the majority of the field to account for and shows a good sense of how to play space. I’d like to see him flip his hips and run a little more fluidly, but considering his production, I’m nitpicking here.
Green needs to be added to our rankings ASAP. He can contribute at wide receiver, but right now, this looks like a potential collegiate cornerback.
