Braden Reed Braden Reed 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Pope John Paul II | 2025 State PA will set the tempo on offense, Makel Parker Makel Parker 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Pope John Paul II | 2025 State PA will set the tone of defense. PJP2 will deploy two top 100 worthy prospects, with Parker formerly ranking inside that threshold just a couple of months back. 6’4/6’5, a lean-cut 230 pounds, I’m a bit surprised more FCS schools haven’t pounced on the athletic profile and skillset of Parker’s yet. Parker claimed a scholarship offer out of Maine back in May, yet I’m out of the loop as to whether this offer still stands. One thing’s for sure, his tape is worthy of said offer still standing true. Although Parker fits the prototypical EDGE mold in terms of measurables, this is a young man who is capable of playing any position across the defensive line at the HS level. PJP2 has explored a ton of different alignment variations, with many popping up on Parker’s end-of-season highlight tape. I’ve spoken about Parker potentially gaining weight in prior years, he did just that while maintaining speed and burst off the snap. Emphasis on hand usage looks clearer in his junior tape that it ever has. I know FCS schools will still be on the lookout for a prospect with athletic potential like Parker, I’d still hold out hope if I were him. Look for PJP2 to potentially use Parker on both sides of the ball. He has done so in the past, the exodus of high-profile names might call for two-way demand.

Capable of playing TE, yet is serving primarily as a DE that can shade either side of the tackle, both weak side or strong. Also serving as the PJP2 left tackle. Has the athletic ceiling that coaches drool over. His complete alignment/position versatility and experience are only going to help further boost his stock. A fantastic puller, again, this kid isn’t even 230 pounds, so he doesn’t have much of a choice but to lean into his speed-over-power approach. That being said, I harp on coaches plugging in his tape and taking a look at how he finishes reps. Would be a menace in terms of power if he could put on 15-20 pounds. Can stay this weight and wreak havoc as an EDGE defender. Fun player to watch.

Makel Parker Makel Parker 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Pope John Paul II | 2025 State PA stays inside the top 100, as well as the top 15 at his position. Here’s what I wrote about him back in January.rn
6’5, a lean 215, Parker is a slim and athletic interior defensive lineman whose active hands and feet get him in the backfield quickly. His ability to identify the ball carrier while shedding is impressive, his feel for the flow of the football is that of a seasoned prospect. You don’t see 215-pound IDL often, he’s a bit of a twist for IOL who are expecting beefier gap-clogging nose guards inside. He’s got OLB burst and pursuit, yet utilized well in the trenches. A ton of TFLs and sacks on tape, couple of forced fumbles too.

coming into the building should help Parker become an even better prospect, especially if he continues to line up against tackles. What intrigues me the most is the plan PJP has in store for the junior DL/OL/TE. Division One grade.

Another new name who has debuted high on our ranks is Pope John Paul II’s Makel Parker Makel Parker 6'4" | 220 lbs | DL Pope John Paul II | 2025 State PA . 6’5, a lean 215, Parker is a slim and athletic interior defensive lineman whose active hands and feet get him in the backfield quickly. Parker can still shade OTs and provide a rush in B gaps too, reason we have him at “ATH” is because of how position versatile this kid is and could be. FB-lead blocking reps on offense, special teams reps, I wouldn’t be surprised if he could provide value at OL or TE too. A sleeper that I’m ready to put on the map.
