is going to be another name to watch for the Timberwolves moving forward. Adams had a really strong freshman season and earned team honors for his work on the defensive side of the ball. We really like some of the pieces that Norman North brings back for the 2024 season. Seeing Adams take the next step could make them a dangerous team.
Luke is a big time linebacker to get to know before it is too late. With a stunning performace at the Prep Redzone Next Showcase in Texas, Luke was named a 1st Team All-Camp linebacker. On the football field, Luke is a strong tackler and shows a strong burst when he is in pursuit of the ball. Luke is also a natural at placing himself on a good angle to the ball carrier and closing the gap to make a play on the ball. Overall, Luke is a very exciting ball player to watch when he is competing. If he keeps this up, Luke is going to dominate offenses all over the state throughout his high school career.
Adams has thick shoulders, a strong, stout build and looks every bit of 6-foot and 200-pounds. In the shed and go portion of the linebacker drills, he hit the blocking dummies with a powerful punch. Luke has good length, shows good hip flexibility, he has good short area quickness and excellent lateral movement. Adams takes proper pursuit angles to the ball carrier in space and he showed off good closing speed when the running back commits to a hole. He has the make up of your classic thumper at the Mike linebacker position, but has the athleticism to line up on the edge and rusher the passer as a stand-up linebacker. As he continues to develop his skill set, he has the potential to be one of the top linebackers in his class in the state of Oklahoma.
Luke is a two-way player coming out of the state of Oklahoma. At a strong and thick 5-foot-11 and 195-pounds, Luke has documented success on both sides of the ball. At linebacker, which is where I like him best, Luke shows off his good pursuit speed via rushing off the edge towards the quarterback or chasing down a running back. With his speed, however, Luke also has great vision that allows his eyes to take him to where the ball is going. Once the running back has established where he is taking the ball, Luke right there to take the running lane away. On the offensive side of the ball, Luke is a bruising running back who has the capability to gain large chunks of yards on any given play. Luke has shown some exciting things very early on in his career and there is Division 1 potential here if he keeps on the same trajectory he’s been on.
