was the most dominant linebacker I covered all season and backed it up with some of the best production in the state. He finished with nearly 200 total tackles, an eye-popping 50 TFLs, and 7 sacks—numbers that speak to his constant presence around the football and ability to disrupt plays at a high level. At 6’1, 225 pounds, Harris brings ideal size, physicality, and downhill explosiveness. With his production and impact, he has a strong case to be considered the top linebacker in North Carolina.

Harris was going to end up as the top name on a list during the Deep Dives series. The only question was whether that would be as a linebacker or as an edge rusher, where he played more as a sophomore. On a deeper defense, he moved off the ball on a more permanent basis this last offseason, and suddenly, all the potential turned into elite production. He’s a judo champion, so you won’t find any linebacker in the state better at using his hands than one of the leading tacklers in the state.

has been one of the most impressive linebackers in the entire state this season, and he showed why again in the semifinals with a dominant 18 tackles and 2 sacks. He plays fast, physical, and with a relentless motor that sets the tone for Hunt’s entire defense. Harris diagnoses quickly, arrives with pop, and has the rare ability to create momentum-swinging plays from the second level.
If Hunt wants to walk out of Durham with a championship, Harris will need another double-digit tackle, impact-play performance. He’s the defensive anchor — and the one player on the field who can flip a drive, a quarter, or an entire game with a single read and burst. His game-changing ability is undeniable.

was the Defensive Player of the Game, turning in one of the most dominant performances of the night. He piled up 18 total tackles and a staggering 4 sacks, flying around the field and impacting every level of the defense. Harris was everywhere — disruptive, physical, and impossible to ignore.

Harris has been one of the most impressive linebackers in the state this season. The junior is a relentless sideline-to-sideline defender who plays with high energy and great instincts. His ability to diagnose plays quickly and close in space separates him from most linebackers at his level. Whether he’s stuffing the run, dropping into coverage, or blitzing off the edge, Harris brings intensity on every snap. As Hunt continues its push late in the season, Harris will be the defensive X-factor — the kind of player who can take over a game with sheer effort and leadership.

Harris is the emotional and vocal leader of the Hunt defense. A true 6’1″, 220-pound linebacker, he’s a big, physical hitter who commands the middle of the field. His leadership and presence rally the entire unit, and he brings consistent effort every down. Harris is the kind of linebacker every defense needs — passionate, physical, and dependable.

Harris has an intriguing skillset and high motor, which allows him to make plays after his initial pass rush. He gets off the ball quickly and though he’s not the biggest edge rusher, he has strong legs and is able to move offensive lineman off the line and hold his own against the run. There’s potential to add some variety to his pass-rushing repertoire, and if he does that I think we’ll see the raw sack numbers go up. Oh, he’s a judo champion too and from experience, I know how that can help.
