The earliest non-specialist commit in the entire 2027 class, Freeman pledged early to the Wolfpack and has never wavered. Playing behind a stellar Southeast Raleigh offensive line, Freeman is both steady and explosive. While he shows the vision, burst, and open-field ability you’d hope for in a Power Four running back, his abilities in the passing game set him apart. He’s a talented pass-blocker and caught 25 passes as a junior. He’s not just running to the flat, but instead he’s flashed a more robust route tree for the Bulldogs. He’s ahead of the curve on two parts of the game that often trip backs up in the transition to the college level, so don’t be surprised if he contributes early with three-down upside.

Freeman is a long-time NC State commit who has plenty of experience for Southeast Raleigh. He’s one of the better athletes at the running back position, with a laser-timed 40 in the low 4.4s. He ran for 1,200 yards last season, adding six receiving touchdowns. Southeast Raleigh should be even better this season, and Freeman should play a part in the 7A playoff story.

A long-time North Carolina State commit, Freeman returns after leading the offense in yardage last season. He’s an outstanding receiver out of the backfield, and he showed a willingness and ability to operate between the tackles last year, too. Freeman put up over 1,600 yards last season, finding the end zone 21 times as a junior.

The infrastructure around Freeman is such that the NC State commit could have a massive senior season. In addition to his speed and cutting abilities, he’s one of the best receivers at the running back position in the state, and he could theoretically push 2,000 yards this season if things break in his favor.

Freeman has been the lead back for an excellent Southeast Raleigh squad for multiple seasons, running for over 1,300 yards this season after almost 900 as a sophomore. His ability as a receiver out of the backfield is what sets him apart, with 44 catches for well over 500 yards over the last two seasons. He’s one of the top backs not only in the county, but also in the state.

Freeman continues to creep up our rankings, as he’s one of the steadiest backs in the state. He ran for 100 yards in all but one win last season, hitting 100 scrimmage yards in every game he had at least 10 touches. He’s a weapon as a receiver out of the backfield and improved his pass-blocking abilities this season, giving him three-down college upside.
