Different school, same results. In his first game as a St. John’s College Cadet, Rouson ran for four touchdowns. The contact balance that he shows in these clips is his best trait. Rouson is built like a tank and runs with a great lean, keeps his legs moving, and runs through contact. One-cut type of runner who sees the crease and takes it. Playing in the WCAC and a challenging schedule gives Rouson an opportunity to climb our rankings by the end of the season.
New chapter. Same standard. 4 TDs🤫🤫🤫🤫
Grateful for this opportunity to start this new chapter with my brothers. More to come. @SJCGridiron @coachbyrd75 @GRIFFbgriffin First Season Game 8/29/26 pic.twitter.com/2jgaXXQK0v— Japhya Rouson

Japhya comes in as the #1 ranked RB in the class and he sure has played like it so far this season. Great looking on the hoof, Japhya is a yoked up freshman and all of 200lbs with a thick build and strong lower half. He runs behind his pads, with power and a strong wide base. He can take a hit, bounce off & keep going. Shows good balance and patience as a runner. Japhya has good long speed and nice burst through the hole. Uses a good jump cut/juke to avoid defenders at the LOS. Overall Japhya has some MJD/ Marshawn Lynch style to his game with his lower center of gravity and strong base with good balance. With two Power 4 Offers already, I can’t wait to see more of his game in the future.
