For being 6’3 225 pounds, I was glued to watching Jack’s instinctive first step out of his later reps at the Tommies prospect camp last Friday night. Jack’s route-running ability is built more like a hybrid WR/TE from these eyes as he showed quick hand-eye coordination to bring the ball to his chest in St. Paul. Jack showed off from wherever I watched him on Friday night, a well-built work ethic that plays with plenty of longevity in his frame. He also off a high ceiling of upside with his blocking technique as he certainly has some developmental gains that are still untapped. Jack shows off on tape a prospect that has a loaded football IQ, as his tape is as diverse as you want as a college recruiter at the tight end position. Jack holds two offers so far, and is certainly one if I was a college recruiter I would offer right away.

exhibits a natural love for blocking that radiates off his film. Whether he’s crashing down on the play side or leveling a defensive end on the back side, Simon is always operating at 100 percent and seems to take no plays off. On the receiving side of things, he shows great situational awareness. He knows when to peel off a block and be an outlet for his Quarterback, which can turn debilitating sacks into first downs. When he’s running up the field, Simon shows a knack at extending the play by working back towards the ball, a trait many receivers struggle with picking up on, much less tight ends. Pack all of this into a 6-foot-4, 220 pound frame, and you have a guy who will likely make a big splash in the fall.
