Ian Strong Ian Strong 6'4" | 180 lbs | ATH St. Anthony's | 2023 State NY is not only a stock riser because of his play as one of the best defensive backs in New York but a position change from just a DB to ATH as Strong played a fair share of wide receiver this season is what is responsible for his jump in the rankings. Strong had 30 receptions, 797 yards, 10 touchdowns, and averaged a whopping 26.6 yards per reception. A true big play threat Strong was incredible using his size and athleticism to consistently win down the field. On the defensive side of the ball Strong was his usual self with 80 Tackles, 41 Solo, 3 TFL, 3 INT, 1 FF, 1 GW Blocked FG. Strong was a playmaker on both sides of the ball this season and was clearly the best 2-way player in New York.

The 6’4 senior did everything for the Friars. It was his first season playing offense and Strong put on a show. His size created mismatches for DB’s. He displayed his jump ball ability constantly coming down with a reception. Strong’s ability to make people miss after the catch also created problems for every defense he faced. The Rutgers commit also played as a safety and linebacker for the Friars, showing off his speed, physicality and ball skills. Strong will enroll early at Rutgers

Fairly quiet on the offensive side of the ball Ian Strong Ian Strong 6'4" | 180 lbs | ATH St. Anthony's | 2023 State NY had an incredible game otherwise. Strong was one of the main reasons that the Stepinac offense struggle to throw the ball. Their patented short passing game was limited to mostly screens throughout the evening. Strong did not have many opportunities to make plays on the ball because receivers in his area were never open. A really solid defensive performance by Strong was capped off when he blocked the game-winning field goal attempt which was returned by Jaeden Jenkins for an 80-yard game-winning touchdown.

One of the of the best athletic profiles in this class Strong has the length to perform at a high level in college. He has incredible length for the safety position and ability to make plays on the ball in the secondary is some of the best in this class. He jumps all the way to #10 making it one of the most significant jumps in our rankings.
