is that 2023 All State 1st Team selection that returns this fall. Utley was absolutely lights out for the Timberwolves along the defensive line. He was a lot of fun to watch, unless you were an opposing offense. Utley was one of the leaders in 6A-1 in sacks with 15 sacks on the year. When we watched him in person, Utley was an absolute game-wrecker right in the middle of the defensive line. This season, we think that Utley has the ability to be even better and as we mentioned earlier, we think the strength of this Norman North defense will be in the front seven. Having a player like Utley back is a big reason why.

was the most productive defensive lineman in the state’s 2025 class last season. Utley was an absolute terror up front for the Norman North defense and he would end up earning All State 1st Team honors with that production, going against the top level of competition in Class 6A-1. When we look at Utley as a prospect, we know he’s a guy that can play at the next level. But the only question is where? A lot of it will obviously depend on the scheme but is he more inside or outside along the defensive front. Wherever he ends up, he has a unique blend of size and speed to get the job done.

was thought of as a “jumbo” athlete that could move around and play a few different positions. During his junior season in 2023, Utley settled in on the defensive line and became an All State-caliber player. He was one of the absolute best in 6A-1 at getting to the quarterback. We got a chance to see him in person once in 2023 and quite a bit on film and you see a motor that doesn’t stop, a relentless effort to beat his man and he rarely gets pushed back. Utley’s older brother Harrison is one of the top offensive line prospects in the state’s 2024 class. Now, Norman North has another Utley that has emerged as one of the best at his position. His recruitment should take off very soon.

impressed us when we got a chance to see Norman North in person earlier this season. They came up short in the game against Jenks but Utley still impressed and was one of the bright spots on defense. Utley is having a terrific season on the defensive side of the ball and he has definitely shown a ton of improvement from his sophomore season. We covered Utley in the offseason in our “Friday Film Review” series and Utley has taken another step towards being a next level prospect as a defensive lineman. Utley has been incredibly productive this fall, leading the team in sacks and he’s also one of the team’s leading tacklers. Utley is the younger brother of 2024 OL standout

first got on our radar earlier this season and the thing that really stood out was the endless possibilities of what he could be at the next level. Right now, we have Utley listed as an athlete of the “jumbo” variety because he can play multiple spots on the line of scrimmage on offense and also turn around and play defense. But after watching his film, it’s hard not to imagine Utley playing along the interior of the offensive line at the next level. When Utley lined up at left guard for Norman North, he was a pancake machine and because he also had playing time as a tight end, he has quick feet and athleticism that makes him very intriguing as a guard. He’s a really good athlete that has the feet to play a few different positions. We also watched some of Utley’s film from non-varsity action and you saw him making plays at tight end and there’s a belief that he can also play a few different positions on defense. We’re very intrigued about the ceiling that Utley has moving forward but want to see more consistent play at the varsity level. And as we mentioned before, we’re very high on Utley as an offensive lineman moving forward and it’s not just based on his film. He also has the right DNA for it. Older brother Harrison is one of the top 2024 prospects in the state along the offensive line.
