Tanner plays the game with great speed and timing. Ending his senior season with 62 tackles and 14 TFLs, Tanner uses his speed to make plays all over the field. He can truly run sideline to sideline along with bring a vicious tackling spirit. Uses a strong strike and leverage to shed blockers, has a good feel for when to attack blockers or when to slip them. He is a sure tackler and excels in the blitz schemes but where his true value lies is in his ability to cover not only running backs but tight ends down the field.
