Looking at the deep Idaho 2023 class along the front seven, here are eight prospects that are still available after the first signing day and who would make a big impact at the college level. These prospects have had stellar high school careers and are no brainer next level players and some of the best the Western Region has to offer.
Jaques is a very talented kid that can play either inside or on an edge at the college level. He has a high motor, strong strike and creates immediate kock back near the line of scrimmage. He is very strong at the point of attack while winning with power and leverage and will instantly make any college program better. Offering nice position versatility, he is a no-brainer next level contributor and is one of the more under recruited kids across Idaho.
Reynolds currently has six offers from both FBS and FCS schools while one of the best inside linebackers across the western region. He is a big and physical kid with length, range, and closes quickly while a big time hitter from the second level. He offers pass rush ability and can quickly get off blocks while showing good change of direction and triggering quickly to ball carriers. He has nice length for the position and can run sideline to sideline while quickly sniffing out plays and is a high IQ kid. He is a no brainer high impact kid at that FBS/FCS level.
Tanner has long been one of the premier linebacker prospects across Idaho for the last couple years and is a well put together tough and physical kid with a high football IQ that will instantly make any college program better. He is a true mike backer that can plug and fill, take on blocks inside, violently get off and attack downhill while exploding through contact at full speed. Very strong at the POA, he plays with heavy hands and can apply well timed pressures up the middle and off the edge while very active all over the field. Tanner is everything you want in an inside backer and very under recruited.
Fullmer is another very talented linebacker that shows cover abilities while also able to pass rush and play the run. A very balanced player, he shows good closing and open field speed, takes the right angles in the box and is athletic enough to cover hook/curl region and trigger in the flats against backs or tight ends. Montana Tech has already offered but it would not be surprising if FCS schools offered late on the talented linebacker.
DL Sam Lupumba, Canyon Ridge HS
Standing at 6’6″ and some change, the talented two-sport 2023 prospect is still very raw for the position but has a tremendous ceiling at the next level with tons of untapped potential once he gets developed into a premier pass rusher and plays with leverage. He holds offers from both Idaho and Idaho State but it wouldn’t surprise me if FBS schools took a hard look due to his huge upside and potential at the next level as he develops and grows.
