Rollins measures in at 6’3 210-pounds playing EDGE/LB for Arapahoe. Last season, in limited varsity snaps, he had 6 total tackles (2 solo, 4 assisted), 2 TFL, and 1 sack. Since then, he’s gained some more traction on the college circuit as well as earning himself an MVP at the PRZ event this past spring. Rollins has very good athletic ability due to very good lateral quickness, balance, acceleration, and good speed. Explosive out of his stance and a smooth bend around the edge. Very good strength and hand strength to rip through blocks. Maintains a low pad level with his good knee bend and flexibility. Rollins exhibits very good get off speed and good block shedding ability. Smooth swim moves and a good bull rush. Paired with his very good pursuit, he’ll run out in open space to get the tackle. Strong tackling ability. I’m intrigued to see how Rollins puts it all together this upcoming season.
Rollins showed why he’s a top 2029 defensive end at the event, impressing coaches, players, and myself. Rollins held a top 5 broad jump at the event. He was very explosive out of his stance using his very good hand speed to combat OL techniques. Very good strength. Demonstrated a very good bend around the edge paired with superb body control. He uses his quick, controlled, body movements to dominate. Rollins used his lengthy arms paired with very good spin and swim moves to consistently win reps against his opponents. Rollins is a mixture of power and finesse making it look like he’s effortlessly swimming around the offensive line. He has a lot of promise and with continued development is going to be a nightmare for opposing offenses.
Rollins has already shown to produce in a limited snap fashion. My fellow scout Nate Kue wrote about Rollins recently as well, you can check that out here. Measuring in at 6’2 206-pounds, he had 6 total tackles (2 solo, 4 assisted), 2 TFL, and 1 sack. Rollins has very good lateral quickness, balance, good acceleration, and speed. Good initial quickness out of his stance. Very good hand strength and hand placement. Very good strength. Held OT away with only 1 arm while he rushed the QB and got the sack. Very good bend around the edge. Very good get off speed and good block shedding. Rollins has very good pursuit, and will chase the ball carrier to the 2nd level to make the tackle. He’s already a stud in the making.
Rollins gained valuable experience as a freshman on a Cherry Creek program that captured the 5A state championship. In limited opportunities, he recorded six total tackles, two tackles for loss and a sack while flashing high effort and positional versatility. Rollins plays with a nonstop motor and shows promise as an edge setter and developing pass rusher. His willingness to do the dirty work up front stands out on film. With a full offseason and increased reps ahead, Rollins is positioned to take a major step forward and emerge as a name you need to add to the radar.
Dominus, or Dom, Rollins is going to be the next star to come out of the CO powerhouse Cherry Creek HS. Although only playing in 5 games this season the athleticism and talent are there. Sizing up at 6’2 215, he’s got tremendous size and frame for his age in addition to advanced pass rush technique. His explosiveness, bend, closing speed, and synced up hands+hips+feet are a terror around the edge for opposing OTs. He’s got good strength to hang in the run game but he’s got the frame to add more mass and muscle as he matures to be dominant force there as well. In the run game he pursuits hard showing how much each rep matters to him. Dom has the athleticism, tools, and frame to grow into a dynamic edge player. Long-limbed, twitchy, natural pass rushers are what college coach dreams of having on their defense, I expect Rollins to have 3+ stars to his name come graduation.
