Shellhorn has established himself as a lockdown presence in the stacked Centennial League, positioning himself as a defensive back on the rise. Competing weekly against high level receivers has sharpened his technique and confidence in coverage. Shellhorn finished the season with 45 total tackles, three tackles for loss and one interception, showcasing his ability to contribute beyond coverage responsibilities. He consistently stays in a receiver’s hip pocket, displaying smooth footwork and the awareness to jump passing lanes. His knack for getting hands on the football and batting passes away makes quarterbacks think twice about challenging him. Continued growth and increased takeaways could elevate him into true game changer status for Arapahoe.

Carson Shellhorn Carson Shellhorn 5'11" | 150 lbs | DB/WR Arapahoe | 2028 State CO showed his impact this season with 46 TKLs and 15 PBUs!  His length and timing were tremendous in causing PBUs at the catch point.  His backpedal is smooth and transition downhill are solid as well.  When he gets in trail he doesn’t panic, and fights to stay in phase and battle at the catch point, matching the hands of the WR.  When faced with a bigger WR, Shellhorn is feisty – often frustrating for bigger threats forcing difficult catches, and making them uncomfortable through the route and at the catch point.  Producing well on varsity as a SO, I’m excited to see the jump Shellhorn takes as a JR.
