Expert Analysis
Matt Tate | Prep Redzone Scout
Curry measures in at 6’3 305-pounds and is a versatile tackle for Arapahoe. He can play both sides. Curry has very good strength to consistently lock out and overpower opponents. He has very good hand strength, placement, and hand speed. Curry has good initial quickness to engage the defender first. He has a good knee bend and good body control. Curry sustains his feet and balance on each block. Controlled and concise foot quickness. Curry dominates in both the run game and pass. With good run blocking on the move and a stout anchor, Curry will continue to shoot up recruiting boards. He’s an exciting player that I can’t wait to see more of.

At 6’3 305, Dazjai, or DJ, Curry has good size and strength on the OL. He plays and strikes with a good base, consistently getting 2 feet in the ground before striking in the run game. He also shows patience in his pass sets against wide rushers to not over set or get over his toes. Another thing that pops on tape is his advanced grip strength – when DJ’s got his paws on a guy, the rep is usually over. In the run game he takes good angles when pursuing blocks on the second level, and has the feet and athleticism to get to most blocks in zone runs. A lot of potential for Rising JR

Curry was the MVP for OL and was a big boy that was able to be dominate through drill work and one on one. He showed good quickness for his size and had good hand placement. He was good at using his strength to beat defenders and used that strength to drive defenders back at times.

as a “new” prospect, but in a 2028 Colorado class that hasn’t necessarily knocked my socks off in terms of offensive line prospects since my initial sweep in September/October, he really is the new name to know. He’s a big kid that does a great job of delivering a big blow right off the whistle. I think he might end up as a disruptive interior defensive tackle when it’s all said and done, but he’s one of the best offensive tackles in the state.

At 6-foot-1 and 275 pounds of violent trench play, Curry was a standout for one of the top youth programs in Colorado during the 2023 season, the Spillionairs. Watching him playing primarily right tackle, opposite big 6-foot-3,

at left tackle, the duo were a pair of impressive bookends up front. He did a nice job of delivering an initial blow to the defensive linemen or linebackers, to stun them for the back to come through. He’ll need to continue to improve his foot work and not just relying on that initial blow to open up the hill, by driving his feet through the man. That said, watching him on film, I don’t think defensive tackle would be a bad option going further too.
