About Devontae
Expert Analysis

The future Ohio State Buckeye had a phenomenal season in 2023. He plays as a LG. In pass pro, he plays with a good, wide base and keeps his feet moving. He exhibits great reactive athleticism as he reads the defense and picks up EDGE twisting towards the inside. He exhibits very good play strength at the point of attack as he negates his man’s progress and keeps the QB clean. While run blocking, he is quick off the ball and executes a down block by exhibiting good physical toughness and explosiveness as he finishes the block to the ground for a pancake.

is an agile and quick interior lineman that packs a punch. Able to handle bulky defensive linemen and linebackers alike, Armstrong’s skillset is ever evolving with a focus on technique. Able to pull and keep his head low while loading up for a block, his hips turn quickly up field to engage defenders and once he locks in they are just along for the ride. Armstrong never takes a play off and shows a high football IQ when moving in the open field to the next man. At 6’6 and 288 pounds, Armstrong has the athleticism and skill to play anywhere on the line, but his quickness makes him a high-impact guard with all the potential possible at the DI level. Gaining similar attention as his brother Deontae, both of their work ethics will bring them to a national championship caliber program.

Devontae plays as a LG. When run blocking, he takes a quick first step laterally before latching on and generates excellent movement at the point of attack against the DT with his very good play strength and foot drive. He does a great job of finishing the block to the ground. In pass pro, he shows very good flexibility and wins easily against the DT with his play strength and leverage as he anchors and keeps the pocket clean.
