James Whiteside transferred from St. Edward High School to St. Ignatius ahead of the 2026 season. Expect him to make a big impact for St. Ed’s offensive line. The Class of 2028 prospect is a stalwart offensive tackle with good first-step quickness, fires forward to the second level and effectively drives defenders off the ball. I’d like to see him play with better balance, but the size-speed combination is there. Earned offers from Coastal Carolina and Bowling Green in mid June. Power 4 potential.

James “Peter” Whiteside is a returning offensive lineman for St. Edward High School. Whiteside displays a good lateral set with ability to sustain blocks and mirror rushers off the corner. Very instinctive OT prospect who can read and react quickly to twists and stunts. Whiteside has good first-step quickness and is a great finisher. He transferred to St Ed’s ahead of this season, and earned an offer from Colgate last month.

Peter Whiteside Peter Whiteside 6'4" | 275 lbs | OL St. Edward | 2028 State OH is a starting offensive tackle for St. Ignatius. Whiteside is very good in pass protection; he displays good hand placement and strike timing, effectively mirroring edge rushers and flashing great first-step quickness. Whiteside has a good frame and 6-foot-4, 280 pounds, and effectively drives his feet on contact in the run game. He could project to OG at the next level, but I see him developing into a top prospect in the future.
