. The 6’4″ 265 lbs athlete definitely has the talent to play in the trenches at the next level. His lateral movement and quick feet give him easy mobility to reach block or get up to an LB. The junior IOL has made big strides with his technique, maximizing his natural talents. The hands land accurate strikes, he plays with natural lower body flexibility so he can get leverage, and the power he has made it easy to create a big push in the trenches Week 4. It is great to see him getting out to campuses this fall. If you haven’t seen the film then dive in!

Rankings Jump: #62 Up to #11rnDeclan has had the size for a while now and used it to create a push on the interior of the line. However, the leap that the sophomore center made in his short area burst, agility, and body control at that size took his game to the next level. The sophomore tape now shows an offensive lineman with a great frame that can quickly close on his man, get hands on and run his feet until he puts his guy in the ground. A lineman who can reach DTs a gap over without getting off balance. We see him trust his feet. Declan does a great job turning that burst into power as soon as he gets hands on and driving his man off the ball and resetting the line of scrimmage in his team’s favor. We really got to see the athleticism catch up to the size and strength this fall. It led to our biggest jump in the rankings. Get this kid on your radars early, coaches.

The last film I had watched from Declan was his freshman highlights. The jump he has made over the past year is special. The body control, flexibility, and balance have taken massive leaps forward. Nason now carries and moves his impressive 6’4″ 265+ lbs frame easily and comfortably. Those improved traits have led to major development in his technique. Nason has a powerful lower body that is even more powerful when he adds leverage. The hands are heavy, and much more consistently getting inside on the DL. The big man is light on his feet, can reach defenders and adjust his position while engaged with lateral movements. The stock is definitely pointing up for Declan.
