As an undersized LB it will be hard for Erik to shoot up boards, but turn on the tape and you leave feeling a lot more confident that he can carry over his talents to the next level. Erik has built a long, productive varsity career already. His outstanding instincts at the LB position have given him the ability to get a step on the competition and always be in the right place at the right time to make the play. He is going to make the play too because the 2027 LB is a great tackler. This is an LB you can trust to drop into space and move through traffic very effectively and swiftly too. Dig into his 2025 highlights and keep an eye out for him this summer and try to get him on your campus.
The junior LB out of Racine Case already has a ton of varsity experience under his belt, and it has helped him develop outstanding instincts for the position. Erik is extremely quick to diagnose plays, and when he reads plays Erik reacts like he is shot out of a cannon. He closes quickly and makes sound, secure tackles in space. The ILB is talented at picking through and navigating between the tackles while playing against the inside run game. The junior is one of the top tacklers in the state this season, and it is easy to see why when you turn on the tape.
I was excited to get a live look at the sophomore LB, and I loved what I saw from the 2027 playmaker. Erik produced all night long. He did a great job of reading and flowing all night long and showed a consistent ability to get through the trenches unblocked. His instincts for the LB position are developing very quickly and that has allowed him to play fast. The sophomore plays like a legit three down LB. He can attack downhill vs the run game or drop into coverage. Erik did a great job making his INT late in the game to put the final nail in the coffin. He perfectly read the QB and jumped the route over the middle. In a game loaded with talent, the sophomore was able to flash over and over.
The sophomore LB out of Racine Case is carving out a key role on the varsity defense. Week 7 was a great look at his ability to play in coverage and the open field overall. Erik has easy mobility from attacking downhill vs the run, sliding laterally in zone coverage or turning and running in man coverage or to get out to a receiver at the further edges of his zone. The underclassman has also shown solid awareness while in coverage, quickly finding receivers/RBs/TEs that he is responsible for. Against the run, Erik does a great job of filling his gap while also avoiding blockers. The 2027 is a well rounded prospect at the LB position.
