. As Williams looks to plant his flag as a 4-year starter at the school, we see that he skip pulls well, effectively logging the end-man when needed. Something not shown on the film of many lineman, we see at such a young age Williams picks up late blitzers very well, effectively helping his adjacent lineman with his body while keeping his eyes toward his gap responsibility. Williams keeps his matchup at bay by punching and recoiling his arms most of the time. He also as strength. We see the 2028 graduate toss people at moments. Although he does get a very good amount of movement downfield on double teams, I want to see him follow the play a bit more. What if a ball pops loose or something? Additionally, he should continue to work foot drills so he can continue to be light on his feet.

– Played for Big 215 Extreme
They don’t come much bigger on the pre-high school level , than Williams. The mammoth lineman reminds me a ton of 2027 prospect Nyeem Powell (now at Imhotep) with just how big and powerful he can be. He’s a good interior lineman right now but must shed a few pounds and improve his speed/foot work before getting into high school. Speaking of high school, the south jersey native has narrowed his choices down to two New Jersey schools (Willingboro and Camden) and three Philadelphia schools (Imhotep, Roman Catholic and St. Joe’s Prep).

– One of the biggest kids down there, with a nickname like Bear, you can imagine it was hard to spot him
– A South Jersey native, Bear played an intricate role on the Philadelphia-based 215 Extreme 13U team
– Needs to be inside right now at a Guard position to cover up some of issues with foot work
– He’s a big dude that could probably drop a couple pounds to improve mobility, but still a borderline elite big-on-big run blocker

At first glance of lineman Daniel “Bear” Williams you think he’s a big kid. Then he forces a double take once the pads are on. “Oh he’s big, BIG! Size definitely plays a big part in his game, but please don’t shrink Mr. Williams game to just taking up space. This young man can play big as well. Over the spring I had the opportunity to watch him prepare in practice, then put on a show in the 3rd Annual The Heat Bowl in Delaware. I must admit I assumed right away that he would be an interior defensive lineman that would shut down the A gap without having to do much because of his size. Wrong again! Williams can play not just a one technique (shade center), but also be a dynamic three tech (shade outside guard). He uses his hands well and has a solid first step to redirect whatever is going on in the backfield. Offensively is where he really raised both my eyebrows. Yes he can go both ways too. The footwork and hand placement on his blocks were on point. He buried anything off the edge to keep his quarterback upright all game and did it with an attitude. If TCU freshman Brian Ramsey-Brooks can break the internet, so can “Bear”. I don’t forsee him weighing over 400 pounds out of high school but even if he tips the scale at 300 lbs., he will still be a playmaker that we will continue to talk about.
