Given how early Carlos Blount Jr Carlos Blount Jr 6'0" | 215 lbs | LB Dowling Catholic | 2027 State IA was on the radar of Division I programs across the Midwest, it’s a bit of a shock that none of have offered at this point in time. Blount is an instinctual backer that is as about as sure of a tackler as they come. Keeping his eyes in the backfield and watching the ball, Blount is a big reason why Dowling was able to stop opposing team’s run game with regularity this fall. He can sniff out inside runs, QB keepers and screens over the middle.

Blount isn’t as explosive as an athlete or as big — standing at just 6-foot and 215-pounds — but he’s got the mentality and the know how at playing middle linebacker in one of the best high school programs the state has to offer. He posted 68 tackles, four tackles-for-loss (TFLs) and 2.5 sacks this fall.
