at Defensive Back. Hailing from Morris County, the same County I grew up in, I can confidently say he’s the top player coming out of the North Jersey county for the class of 2030. He was very close with

when it came looking at the Defensive Backs that impressed. I absolutely love Johnson’s length at this point and he plays the Corner position with a similar style to Sauce Gardner — completely engulfing most WR’s and battling hard for each ball in the air. Just two days after the camp, he announced he’ll also be attending SJR next season. Head Coach Auggie Hoffmann and the defending Non-public A State Champions are picking up a pair of New Jersey Prep Redzone Next Middle School Exposure Camp.

immediately draws comparisons to Sauce Gardner, and it’s easy to see why. He has the rare combination of size and athleticism that allows him to completely blanket a receiver and compete for the ball as if it were thrown directly to him, making him an extremely difficult defender to throw towards. On the field, Brice’s backpedal is natural and smooth, keeping his chest over his toes and maintaining perfect positioning throughout. When needed, he can explosively step up the field to close distance or break up a pass, showing both athleticism and timing. Brice played lights out all day, consistently demonstrating why he is such a disruptive presence in the secondary.

is another high level athlete who can be lethal on either side of the ball and continues to trend upward with every evaluation. He impressed the last time he took the field at a Next event and is widely viewed as a future star in the secondary. Defensively, he shows advanced anticipation paired with excellent size, drawing comparisons to Sauce Gardner with his long, disruptive frame. His length and extended arms shrink throwing windows, and when combined with his quick footwork and fluid hip movement, it can quickly turn into a frustrating day for opposing passing games. There is little doubt he will see reps on offense as well, where his skill set as a receiver should offer another glimpse into just how dynamic and well-rounded his game truly is.

. Johnson has great size already at the defensive back position and he has great position when playing DB. He’s got great ball skills and has speed, lateral speed and twitchy hips to keep up with wide outs. He is the real deal in the 2030 class in Jersey!

Without question, a prospect that sits firmly in the upper echelon of 2030 prospects in the state of New Jersey,

did exactly what he’s become accustomed of doing. Primarily a Defensive Back at this point, the Rockaway Twp. Rocket product recorded an interception on a tough passing day for the Blue offense in the MCYFL Freedom Conference All-Star Game. Johnson also scored a touchdown as a Wide Receiver on the offensive ball, showing that he’s not just a one-trick pony. The Player of the Game is not new to impressive performances, as Johnson was a clear standout last year at the PRZ Next Who’s Next Middle School Camp and has continued his play this year as an eighth-grader. One of the Non-Public high schools in the state will be getting a heck of a football player for the next four years.

has one of the highest ceilings of the 2030 defenders I will be covering in these next few articles. One of the top CBs from the combine series earlier this year, Brice caught the attention of all the scouts and coaches in attendance.
A future star in the secondary, Brice impressed us in the winter with his quick reaction time and silky smooth hip movement that he demonstrated in the live drills against the receivers. Brice was able to stay toe to toe with the receivers down field, and he especially did a good job when they broke on their routes. You’d often see Brice beat the wide receiver back towards the line to swat the ball away. Brice is a DB that gives quarterbacks a very small window to find success.

An athlete I had the chance to watch perform earlier this year at the Next Combine in North Jersey,

impressed from start to finish. As one of the top cornerbacks at the combine, Brice exemplified everything you’re looking for in a future lockdown defensive back.
Competing against the top receivers at the Next event, Brice showed excellent change-of-direction skills and the ability to stay glued to the receiver’s hip as they ran through the route tree. Brice’s silky-smooth hip movement gave him the edge anytime a receiver tried to break down and come back to the quarterback.
Brice can also line up on offense as an electric slot receiver. Demonstrating quick footwork and precise routes over the middle in 2024, Brice is poised to be a standout on both sides of the ball. It’ll be exciting to see just how great he can become as he continues to grow and develop.
