A Tier 1 Linebacker in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.
After taking a reclass year and playing with Silk City in 2025, Mazzetti took home the LB MVP award at the New Jersey PRZ Next Middle School Camp in January. Then, in April, the incoming SJR freshman reported his first offer from Eastern Michigan. Also a talented lacrosse player he’s been balancing both sports and since January, Mazzetti has tacked on another inch and put on nearly 15 pounds of muscle.

It didn’t take long to notice Chantz once drills got underway. A well-built linebacker with early physical development, he naturally stood out in position groups. Between the cones, he stayed disciplined, keeping his shoulders square to running backs and refusing to get faked out by flashy footwork or hesitation moves. While others bit on misdirection, Chantz trusted his keys and maintained balance through contact points. His combination of frame, composure, and movement skills gives him a strong foundation. Chantz’ ability to pair size with control should keep him firmly on the radar.

As alluded to in my Linebacker Review of the New Jersey Prep Redzone Next Middle School Exposure Camp, it was a very deep Linebacker group — with 14 prospects catching my eye at the position. Similar to the Running Backs, the Linebacker MVP could have very well gone to several different players, but when the smoke cleared Mazzetti earned the nod. In my 5-hours of interaction with him, he seems like a coach’s dream. He was attentive, asked questions, helped out other LBs and when it was his turn for a rep — he shined bright. We’ll see how he develops, but he could be a future standout for SJR.

Though it was clearly close, it’s hard to argue that Mazzetti wasn’t the top overall performing Linebacker at the the Prep Redzone Next New Jersey Who’s Next Middle School Exposure Camp. He demonstrated a ton of leadership throughout the event, working with other LBs as they waited for their next rep. He asked a lot of questions. He absorbed coaching well and looked extremely prepared for the event. Physically, he looked ready for the next level with a strong build and excellent close proximity speed. He recently announced he will be attending St. Joe’s Regional (Montvale) for high school, joining the 2025 Non-Public A State Champions.
