Ranking the Future: New Jersey’s Top 2030 Athletes

Being listed as an ATH is something truly unique. For some, they're an ATH because they play multiple positions at a high level; For others, perhaps they play a position now that they may outgrow or not grow into at all; Yet, for others, maybe they're listed as an ATH because we aren't sure exactly what they're going to be yet, but we know they can play football.   <h1 class="wp-block-heading">Ranked</h1>    The No.1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Reports pre-high school offers from Memphis and Syracuse</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Also a standout basketball player</li> </ul>   One of the best pure athletes I've seen in New Jersey in the last decade coming out of New Jersey. A Jersey Shore AYF Conference All-Star in 2025 follow his 8th grade season with the Shore Blue Devils, Hill will begin his high school career at St. Peter's Prep in Jersey City as a starting Safety. He gets the nod here as the No.1 Athlete because he has elite ability to play Wide Receiver and could run the ball if needed. Furthermore, he enters high school at 6'1", 175 pounds with outstanding length and is no stranger to the weight room. If he were to pack on enough weight, I wouldn't think twice if he became an Outside Linebacker. The upside is huge, his athletic ability is even greater at this point.     The No.2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>New Jersey PRZ Next Middle School Camp QB MVP in January 2026</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>AYF National All-Star Game MVP in 2026</li> </ul>   It has never been a question of if Mitchell was an elite prospect, it has always been which position will he be an elite prospect at? Throughout his youth career with The Sho he was magic with the ball in his hands as QB1; Now, early film from him at SJR show him making outstanding grabs as a Wide Receiver. Standing at 6-foot and 180 pounds, his build and football ability draw instant comparisons to former NFL players such as Kordell Stewart, Seneca Wallace and Antwan Randle El. With the skill set he brings to the table, he offers versatility and allows for playcallers to be endlessly creative.     The No.3 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>A New York native who play in New Jersey</li> </ul>   <ul class="wp-block-list"> <li>Also plays basketball at a high level</li> </ul>   Not even a blip on my radar until early July when Cherislin pledged his commitment to SJR via social media. After watching film and talking with coaches and athletes, what I saw on his tape was matching up with what other people were saying about him -- he's a stud. At this point in August 2026 he looks like both an elite Corner and a next-level Running Back, with RB holding a slight edge. SJR has an embarrassment of riches in the defensive secondary with Cherislin and two more of the top 30 class of 2030 prospects in the state, with [player_tooltip player_id='1590596' first='Brice' last='Johnson'] and E'San Stokes-Rider. Offensively, where I feel he projects to more, in a recent inter-squad scrimmage, Cherislin recorded 104 yards and a TD on just three touches.    <h1 class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">Tier 1</h1>   Tier 1 athletes aren't listed in the initial Class of 2030 New Jersey rankings, but they stand as the top players at their positions as of August 2026. They have been added to the 2030 New Jersey Watchlist for future evaluations on their development. Athletes are listed alphabetically by first name -- NOT ranked.    A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   Comes from an athletic family with a lifelong college/pro coach for a Dad and sisters who play/played at a high level of college athletics. The best athlete in Western, New Jersey bar none. Will be a day one impact player at Hun. Central. Best sport could be baseball. NJSYFL League MVP in 2025.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   Listed at 6'1" and 201 pounds Carrington is one of the biggest incoming freshman Running Backs I have covered in recent years. One of the best athletes off a deep Galloway team last year, and an All-Star basketball player, Carrington is being listed as an ATH because of his size. If he's this big already, will he eventually outgrow the position? In a recent scrimmage he rumbled his way for a trio of touchdowns and countless big runs. Time will tell here.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   One of many elite prospects off a 2025 Orange team. Looks most dangerous as a Wide Receiver that excels in the quick game. A natural pass catcher then secures the ball and gets vertical quickly. Defensively he looks better than most playing in zone coverage.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   He will be the freshman that comes out of nowhere to surprise people in Morris County for the upcoming 2026 season. Regardless of position, he possesses game changing speed and quickness. Can line up in multiple positions but indications are that he'll be a QB. Also a gifted hooper.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   After flourishing at Wide Receiver and wreaking havoc as an Edge rusher for Mays Landing in 2025, Robinson is listed on the Pleasantville High School roster as WR/DB. Also a standout in track and basketball, he'll like likely end up as a Wide Receiver. However, with his length and athleticism I can see him playing anywhere from Edge to Safety on defense.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   Already reporting a pre-high school offer from Syracuse University, Casario is the crown jewel of the SJA haul of 2030 prospects. Blessed with a combination of size, power and speed, Casario looks like a future college Linebacker. With that said, he was a JSYFL All-Star selection in 2025 after an excellent season playing QB as well. He tells me he'll be seeing QB action early in 2026 as well, but the smart money is him ending up on the defensive side of the ball.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   After contributing heavily on both sides of the ball for the back-to-back champion River Vale Raiders, Haag had a borderline MVP performance in the BCJFL All-Star Game in 2025. Also a basketball player, his size, length and hand-eye coordination make him a natural fit as a Wide Receiver. However, on the defensive side of the ball, he proved to be unblockable as an Edge/OLB in the aforementioned BCJFL All-Star Game. He should start on both sides of the ball.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   Having watched him play twice in game situations in 2025-2026, and then again at The Rize 2026 in June, a kid like Taylor is why sometimes you have to trust your eyes in scouting. He tested OK at The Rize 2026, but did not standout by any means. However, when Taylor gets the ball in his hands whether at RB, Slot or as a CB the kid is a threat to reach the end zone every time. He should see substantial varsity time as a freshman.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   The Kingsway Dragons had a ton of talent in 2025, but nobody on their roster stood out like [player_tooltip player_id='2076864' first='Nakia' last='Robinson']. Last season he did a bit of everything, lining up at Wide Receiver, Linebacker, Safety and even a little bit at Running Back. This upcoming season at Salem High School, he looks ready to do the same. In early scrimmage action he's getting a lot of touches as a Running Back; However, muscled up and reported at 6'1" and 187 pounds, where he ends up playing is limitless.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   The 2025 football season saw Ridgewood win the NBJFL Championship and with it came an All-Star selection for [player_tooltip player_id='2254730' first='Nik' last='Alepa']. With studs lined up all over the field at key positions, Alepa played his part as a Wide Receiver. A 400m New Balance Nationals qualifier on the track, Alepa used speed, quickness and power to make big plays in a number of ways with the ball in his hands. Expect nothing less from him as he moves forward with the Maroons.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   Last season [player_tooltip player_id='2121145' first='Saige' last='Holmes'] lined up as a Wing, a Wide Receiver and a Running Back for West Deptford and was a human highlight reel. Listed at 6'1" and 170 pounds for his upcoming season at St. Augustine, the Hermits will have a bonafide playmaker on their hands that can line up at any skill position on the offensive side of the ball. A long-strider when running in open field, he makes ripping off big chunks of yardage look effortless. He's a stud.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   Unlike the majority of the other prospects on this list, Gill is listed as an ATH because he is a clear standout at the two positions he will be playing -- Wide Receiver and Edge -- but it's up in the air where he will end up. He's a taller WR at this point, standing 6'2" and 160 pounds, but is also on the thin side if he continues on to play Edge at that size. Depending on how the Silk City product continues to fill out will obviously dictate where he plays long term.     A Tier 1 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   After wrapping up a middle school career that saw him rack up thousands of yards on the ground as a Running Back for Woodbury, Norman will play for the same program but will begin his high school career as a Slot Wide Receiver. It's TBD if the move will become a full time switch for Norman, but the close-proximity quickness and twitch translates to the new position.    <h1 class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">Tier 2</h1>   Tier 2 athletes aren't listed in the initial Class of 2030 New Jersey rankings, but are considered prospects that could become one of the best in the state with further development, as of August 2026. They have been added to the 2030 New Jersey Watchlist for future evaluations. Athletes are listed alphabetically by first name -- NOT ranked.    A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   As mentioned above in [player_tooltip player_id='2076864' first='Nakia' last='Robinson']'s writeup, Kingsway had some legit talent in 2025 and they'll move on to Salem. Spence is a quick, agile prospect who moves from RB to Slot WR for high school. He moves like a gnat on the field.     A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   On the smaller side, but very quick. Was selected as a Jersey Shore AYF Conference All-Star in 2025. Played RB during his youth career, but is expected to be used in the slot.     A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   A good looking two-sport athlete (also plays baseball) with size and ability to play multiple positions. In 2025 was named an MCYFL All-Star and 1st Team All-Conference at several positions.     A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   One of the top players off a very good Long Valley team in 2025. Was named 2nd Team All-Conference and earned an invite to the MCYFL All-Star Game where he starred. Looks like he'll play RB early, but can play SS or Slot too.     A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   Sporting a tremendous build for an incoming freshman, Jackson is a stud. Though lacking in height, he can play CB, Slot or RB at a very high level.     A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   Put together pretty well for an incoming freshman prospect. Has played RB, CB and WR during his youth career. He may make the most immediate impact as a Slot WR, but time will tell.     A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   The Collingswood native is a versatile, tough kid. Also a wrestler and a school-record holder in track. He can play WR, CB or RB if needed. I think he'll end up playing CB but the jury is out.     A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   The more I looked at Clifton's 2025 team, the more prospects I found that I liked. Rodriguez is put together well and runs hard. He's starting at RB but could end up playing a bigger role at CB or SS.     A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   Served as a jack-of-all-trades last season for the Manchester Jr. Falcons, as the team went on to win the Meadlowlands Football League championship. Looks most like a WR at this point with his length.     A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   Despite being on the smaller side, Maddrey Jr. is a speedy football player to know. Played RB during youth ball but will be playing Slot WR as a freshman. Also a Camden City champion on the track.     A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   Worthy primarily played RB last year for Howell and earned a Jersey Shore AYF Conference All-Star selection. He's a bigger, longer kid that could potentially moved to another position.     A Tier 2 Athlete in the New Jersey 2030 class, via Prep Redzone Next as of August 2026.   A Jersey Shore AYF Conference All-Star in 2025, Armour is a gifted playmaker with the ball in his hands. He's fleet of foot and finds creases with ease to keep the chains moving. He tells me he'll be starting at QB in 2026, but I view him as more of a natural RB. Piscataway Middle School went 18-0 over the last two seasons and is bringing a number of talented kids to the high school. Miller certainly passes the eye test right away and should play RB, LB or WR early.      <h1 class="wp-block-heading has-text-align-center">Tier 3</h1>   Tier 3 athletes aren't listed in the initial Class of 2030 New Jersey rankings.
