Expert Analysis
Conner Smith | Prep Redzone Scout
Rein is one of the up-and-coming in-state tight ends for the 2028 class with plenty of great traits. He already has D1 size at 6-foot-6 and 235 pounds with nice athleticism and speed. The sophomore tight end is a good run blocker who gets off the line quickly, has nice technique when setting up on his block and driving defenders through the echo of the whistle.
While he’s a good blocker, the Red Raider has been an excellent receiving threat for his offense. Rein’s route running is solid for someone as big as him, and he has an excellent feel for his surroundings. On top of that, he has strong hands and can make contested catches. After a strong start to his sophomore season, Rein may be TE1 in his class.
