After breaking onto the scene as a sophomore and putting up big numbers, Blake has somehow gotten better in every single statistical category — and even the one area that did dip, yards per completion, feels more like a sign of maturity than anything declining. He’s been so consistent while also figuring out how to remain dangerous. He has more games with over 200 yards, a score, and a completion rate over 65% than anyone in the state. (5) The efficiency is matched by the command; you can see how the experience from last year shaped his patience and decision‑making. He’s got the prototype frame and such a smooth throwing motion. He may not have the highest completion percentage in the state, but I’d put his accuracy up there with anyone. We’re talking down the field dropping it in the bucket, hitches being on the right shoulder, leading slant routes with his speedster wideouts, you name it. You’ll see him change pace on layered routes, throw away from leverage in the red zone, and keep the operation on schedule with smart, low‑risk decisions. Then, when defenses creep, he’ll hit the shot he’s been setting up. Roskopf is a guy who already looks ready to be taking snaps at the next level, and he’s still got another year of high school ball left.

Roskopf enters as my #1 QB in 5A given his current ability mixed with his high ceiling and wowing potential moving forward into the next level. A legit P4 kid that holds 18 offers and has been drawing SEC eyes. He sizes up with a college ready frame at 6’5″ 235lbs and is as pure of a pocket passer as you will find, but can also make plays on the ground on designed QB counters and broken plays. Natural passer with a quick, effortless release and elite arm strength. His accuracy on all 3 levels of throws with different variations of throws (1, 2, and 3 ball) is extremely impressive, as he makes those difficult throws look easy while anticipating a hit after release. He goes through progression, throws with anticipation and timing, can move DB’s with his eyes, and the list goes on as he truly checks all the boxes.

Blake Roskopf Blake Roskopf 6'5" | 235 lbs | QB Desert Edge | 2027 State AZ really checks a lot of boxes at quarterback. Physically, he looks the part — tall, athletic, and smooth with his mechanics. He plays with a looseness that helps him stay comfortable under pressure, but still maintains control over what he’s doing. That balance is tough to teach, and it really stood out throughout the night. He’s got a group of burners around him, so being able to hit the deep ball is a must — and he’s got that part down. The ball jumps out of his hand, and with his size, it looks almost effortless when he flicks it to the far side of the field. Even when a rep didn’t go his way, you could see how locked in he was. He’d be visibly frustrated for a second, then lock back in and respond with a strong throw the next snap. That bounce-back mentality and ability to stay composed are big pluses at this position. Desert Edge already had plenty of firepower last season, and with Roskopf’s continued growth and poise, they might be even scarier this fall. He looks more and more like the kind of QB who can take full command of an offense.
