He was a disruptive force all night, finishing with 10 total tackles (7 solo), 4.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks. Quick off the ball, he consistently beat blockers at the line of scrimmage to create instant penetration and make plays behind the line. He shows the strength to stack blockers and hold his ground, while also displaying the technique to shed contact and quickly locate the ball. A high-motor defender who set the tone up front.

– On an AZ Suns 13U team that had a bunch of really impressive-looking players, Wells did not catch my eye first time I watched. However, loved what I saw the second time
– Really good length at 6-foot-1 and good footwork – obviously aided by the fact he’s a solid basketball player too
– Has a bit of a mean streak when it becomes time to put rubber to pavement
– Does a good job of crashing from the defensive end position. At first look, would think he’s a pass rushing specialist. However, appeared to play better against the run
