Honeywood’s tape is easy to like because the speed isn’t just there for show — it shows up in basically every part of how he plays. He’s got the kind of juice that can flat-out run by people, but what I liked just as much is how aware he is of the fear that speed creates. Corners start giving him space, and he knows how to use that against them, putting on the brakes, pacing his stem, and finding room without needing everything to be perfectly drawn up for him. The natural feel when he sees its zone showed up a lot too. He does a really nice job settling into soft spots, working back to the quarterback when things stretch out, and staying available instead of drifting dead into coverage. Then once the ball is up, he tracks it cleanly and finishes the play. That reliability matters, especially for a receiver who isn’t built like a bully. He’s not the biggest guy on the field, but his hands are strong and his body control is good enough to clean up throws that aren’t right on him. There’s enough burst, enough separation, enough feel, and enough trustworthiness at the catch point here to look at him as more than just a speed guy. He looks like a really good receiver.

Honeywood is a quick twitch and athletic WR out of Desert Edge. Flashes good all around game speed with strong initial burst off the LOS, plus change of direction, and the top end speed to outrun defenders on vertical routes. Loose hips, he’s quick in and out of his breaks as a route runner and is sudden/explosive with his cuts. Excels after the catch to turn short passes into big gains showing the elusiveness to make defenders miss and the acceleration to breakaway in space. Good ability to make the catch but would like to see him be more consistent with hands instead of allowing the ball to get into his body. Possesses a recruitable athletic profile with his combination of size (6’2” 175 lbs.) and speed.

Long, athletic kid that can play Safety, Corner or Wide Receiver. Ball skills are a major plus. Would trust him to play centerfield on defense and/or as my deep ball threat on offense.

Was a key contributor on both sides of the ball for the AYF Phoenix All-Stars at both Safety and Wide Receiver. Tall, long and lean right now, but can jump out of gym

-Tall and long, has the potential to become a big time prospect as long as he finds the weight room and starts adding some thickness to his frame
-Originally caught my eye as a Free Safety, but after watching him run routes, right now he can play on both sides of the ball at a high level
-If I had to predict, he’s going to develop into a very good Wide Receiver over time. He’s not a project by any means but there is some fine-tuning to do. Can’t teach his length, stride and knack for the big play
