With the, frankly, over abundance of talent Winslow possesses at the skill positions, they also have players in the trenches who can ball out. Enter: Ben Carter Ben Carter 6'1" | 245 lbs | DL Winslow | 2027 NJ . An edge player with raw speed, Carter can beat tackles to 5 yards in 3 steps of less; additionally, he bends the corner well. His speed and athleticism affords Winslow to allow him to play elsewhere too, even mugging the center at times as a mike backer stunting. I thought that Carter was a bit old school in how he attacked linemen, using push/pull technique to get the best of his matchup as he works to extend his arms. Physicality is also a bit part of his game when tackling. A great deal of force is generated too as demonstrated by his closing speed. A an extremely, very raw prospect in my opinion, he is a mismatch nightmare with many skills to hone in on and refine. Carter would benefit from training his eyes when he is unblocked to improve how he spills and should also be reminded to buzz his feet when engaged at the line of scrimmage.

was just as dominate. Carter matched Carstarphen’s team lead with 9 tackles (6 solo) in the Winslow victory. Carter continued to with 4.5. tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks. Carter concludes his season with 110 tackles (88 solo), 23.5 tackles for loss, 9.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles.
As scary as the thought of Carstarphen returning for his senior season is, Carter just only completed his sophomore season. Expect to see plenty more of him for years to come.
