continues to be the engine of Winslow’s offense. Against St. Augustine, he once again put his elusiveness, contact balance, and playmaking ability on display. Every time he touched the ball, he looked dangerous, creating chunk plays and keeping the defense on its heels. Powell capped off his performance with a touchdown, reaffirming why he’s been Winslow’s most consistent performer through the first three games of the season.

was one of the few bright spots for Winslow’s offense. He finished with 96 receiving yards and proved to be the most reliable playmaker in a tough matchup. Powell’s versatility stood out, as he lined up at running back, wide receiver, and moved all around the formation to create mismatches. His thick frame allowed him to break tackles, while his elusiveness gave him extra yards after the catch. Even though Winslow struggled to generate consistent offense, Powell showed why he’s one of their top weapons and a player defenses will have to account for all season.

is the kind of player who doesn’t just contribute—he changes games. At 6’0” and 180 pounds, Powell’s long, wiry frame and explosive playmaking ability make him a nightmare for defenders. Last season, he was a cornerstone of Winslow’s state championship run, showcasing his versatility as a wide receiver and running back.
What sets Powell apart isn’t just his athleticism—it’s his football IQ and willingness to embrace multiple roles. His ability to seamlessly switch positions and make plays with the ball in his hands is rare for a player in his class. Whether he’s lining up in the backfield or out wide, Powell’s knack for finding the end zone is undeniable.
But it’s his mindset that genuinely stands out. Powell’s openness to playing wherever his team needs him speaks volumes about his team-first mentality. That versatility, combined with his natural talent, will make his transition to the college level smoother than most. Coaches love players who can do it all—and Powell is precisely that.

is quickly emerging as one of the most under-the-radar offensive talents in New Jersey. A critical factor in Winslow’s undefeated start, Powell’s versatility as a wide receiver is turning heads. Whether lining up inside or outside, he consistently makes an impact. On the outside, he thrives in contested situations. In the slot, he expertly finds seams in the zone, turning small openings into big plays.
Nakeem’s ability to be used as a chess piece sets him apart. Powell’s film shows him seamlessly shifting from the backfield to a wideout or from a wide receiver to a running back, proving he can make plays from any position. His athleticism stands out, especially in one-on-one situations. His speed with the ball in hand makes him dangerous in the open field. That explosiveness carries over to special teams, where he’s already returned a punt for a touchdown this season.
With one offer from Syracuse, Nakeem is steadily building his case as one of the best playmakers in the state. If he maintains his current trajectory, expect his recruitment to rise significantly in the coming months.

was ranked highly and held serve as more and more film was watched. Listed as an athlete, the Winslow prospect adjusts to the ball really well, grabbing it behind his head by using his hands. When he runs routes he has a hard, devastating jab step that gets defenders to overreact, flipping their hips in the wrong direction, only for Powell to get wide open for big gainers; this jab step also translated well on film when Powell was lined up at running back. A hard runner, we see that he has a forward lean and is clearly explosive and violent in how he runs and how he cuts. With the speed to beat anyone to the sideline, he can quickly stop and turn up again in a hurry, while also sucking up defenses on trick plays – one where he launched the ball 50 yards through the air. Another thing that stood out about Powell was how he did not prematurely turn on the jets, showcasing patience beyond his years during his sophomore season. Defensively we see a corner who can quickly stack his matchup to aggressively play the run without blowing his force assignment. Powell also gets tremendous breaks on the ball, as in one clip we saw him play 10 yards off and yet still make a tackle for a 2-yard loss. With his speed, Powell can play bump-and-run while having recovery speed should he get rubbed.

, now at Winslow after starting his high school career at Hammonton, is a 5’11”, 175-pound athlete who lines up at multiple positions and consistently makes plays. Primarily, he excels as a wide receiver, running back, and cornerback. He possesses great speed, exceptional open-field ability, and outstanding athleticism.
In his highlights, you see him skying over defenders to make spectacular catches and showcasing his solid contact balance with impressive yards after the catch. He exhibits great burst, speed, and acceleration as a running back. He has the total package of movement with the ball in his hands, making him a constant big-play threat.
Additionally, as a cornerback, he demonstrates solid make-up speed. This trait separates the good cornerbacks from the great ones. Nakeem recently earned his first offer from Syracuse. Once the season starts, I believe he’ll secure more offers. He’s poised for a breakout season that will put him on the map as one of New Jersey’s top players and overall weapons.

Powell (no relation to Jake) can certainly stretch the field and is a big-play threat. Powell showed out when he flex his double-move routes, taking the top off the defense and leaving his defender in the dust. The one particular play that opened my eyes and left me impressed was a very long out-and-up route he ran. The defender was completely put in a blender and Powell scored with ease.
