He is a fleet mover who is explosive off the line and smooth in the open field. At just 265 pounds, he has a chance to grow into his body while still maintaining his athletic gifts. Even at a smaller weight, Payne is devastating on down blocks and understands how to win with leverage off the line. His length and athletic profile will allow him to protect the blindside of the passer with some technical refinement. Payne will need seasoning before he contributes, but he is a lottery ticket and could develop into a starter at tackle for USC. He reminds me a little of 2024 UNC OL signee Andrew Rosinski.
