Continue ReadingBecause the 2026 Rankings update jumped from just 25 players ranked to 100 total players ranked and a watchlist of over 115 players. There was not a lot of space to move up, and only 6 players did so with the new additions and profiles compared to the last set of rankings. Some of these guys moved up only one spot, but that still lands them at the top. Some of these guys have some serious college interest already as recruiting is being pushed to a younger age for athletes.
The star running back out of tottenville, Tyshawn Bent Tyshawn Bent 5’10” | 175 lbs | RB Tottenville | 2026 State NY has some of the best traits you want in a running back and showed them throughout his freshman season on tape. With already multiple DI offers, Bent not only is one of the current top prospects in New York but someone who has a really high ceiling and will continue to develop and grow throughout the next three seasons in New York. Bent jumps up one spot in our rankings to #3 overall.
Messiah Hampton Messiah Hampton 6’1″ | 170 lbs | WR Monroe | 2026 State NY , who picked up his first offer this fall has been really playing well in offseason camps/7v7s. Hampton just picked up an offer from West Virginia and he also moves up 1 spot on our list to #4 overall and the #1 WR in the class. Hampton looks to continue to build off a strong freshman season and spring camp season.
Jarrett Serate Jarrett Serate 6’1″ | 285 lbs | DL Curtis | 2026 State NY is the biggest riser in our rankings jumping from 19 all the way to 5. Serate was one of the best defensive lineman in the PSAL last season and showcased some really nice athletic traits and flashes of really strong pass rush and run defending skills that can continue to develop and grow. Serate as the size to be a dominant player in years to come for Curtis.
Brayden Richardson Brayden Richardson 5’11” | 190 lbs | ATH Sleepy Hollow | 2026 State NY rises only one spot, that becomes more impressive than it sounds when you realize that half of the top 10 are new additions. Richardson was one of the best freshman playmakers this fall and was a dynamic athlete with the ball in his hands. Richardson has good measurables, speed, and a very high ceiling going forward.
Highlights
Daniel White Daniel White ATH Half Hollow Hills East | 2026 State NY is a really dynamic athlete who can produce with the ball on offense or in the return game. On offense, White has some really nice versatility in where he can line up and his slightly smaller frame lead to some of the nicest, quickest cuts in the state. White is a threat as a returner and on offense as long he has the ball in his hands and some space to work with.
Jaire Edwards Jaire Edwards 6’0″ | 250 lbs | DL Mount St. Michael | 2026 State NY moves up a couple spots and for good reason. Edwards was one of the lone bright spots for Mt. Saint Michael’s in last seasons CHSFL AA2 Championship game. Edwards is tough to move and does well at getting off blocks. He has good size and strength but turning some of that motor and strength into well-rounded athleticism could give Edwards another gear to get into when he plays. A really good prospect who improved throughout his Freshman season and with similar development will end up a very good player in this class.
