is heading to Stony Brook. The Tottenville RB, has solidified himself as one of the top ball carriers in the state, and made his presence known leading Tottenville to the PSAL Championship game.
A solid contributor across his HS career in the PSAL league. He has good hands making him a threat in the passing game. A fast RB he makes smooth cuts and has good vision. Bent is hard to tackle and has a quick burst allowing him to plow his way through holes. He sees the field like a top RB and has a solid IQ. Bent can easily play at the next level, and Stony Brook is getting a future star.
Congratulations Tyshawn!

Standing at 5’10” 175-pounds, Bent is an intriguing prospect. He is viewed as an undersized RB, but plays on both sides on the ball and has solid tape as a slot DB.

I will keep Bent in the RB position because I still see him as an RB first, but I think there is some really intriguing tape at DB. He fits the profile of a smaller slot corner with good burst and flashes some violent tackling, so he gets the DB position added to his profile, with a good chance he could also be recruited as a DB.
Bent has been a consistent producer for the PSAL for years, but he keeps getting bigger, and his film gets better. He plays both sides of the ball with a great motor and a physical style of play. His burst and acceleration stand out a lot on film. Long speed looks to be there, but there are no track times. I like the ball skills; he can be a receiving threat out of the backfield.
There is not enough DB film to make me confident that is his best position, but just as an athlete, he checks a lot of boxes and is on tape as one of the best athletes in this class.

We all know Bent as one of the top running backs in New York, and he has continued to be that again this season for Tottenville, a part of New York’s best RB duo – but it is his defensive performance that has stood out in addition to what we expected on offense. His measurables suggest a potential future at defensive back if there is an alternative to running back. He lines up in a Nickel position, and his speed and ability to play fast, trusting his eyes and instincts, is what makes him a dynamic defensive playmaker. Before this season, I had never really thought of Bent as anything but an RB, and that probably is still his best position, but he is showing another level to his game with what he has done on defense and the positional versatility he could bring to the next level.

Bent, who is the first 1/2 of the dynamic duo in the backfield for the Pirates, was the more dominant of the 2 prospects in the regular season, where he eclipsed 1,000 yards. With multiple P4 offers, Bent is one of the top prospects in the 2026 class in New York and, overall, one of the best running backs in the state, regardless of class.
Bent has the frame to add more weight and strength to his game, but on tape, he shows a relentless running style and outstanding contact balance.

Bent out of Tottenville is another back who shares a backfield, but unlike many others, he is the veteran back in the backfield. With multiple years of varsity experience, Bent has a lot of tape to look at. He is super slippery as a runner and has very quick feet and excellent change of direction. Bent’s athleticism is centered around his twitch, burst, and quickness, and although a smaller back does run with some juice, making contact and flashing some strength to break tackles.

that has been elite to say the least this season. Bent has been the complete package at the RB position with amazing speed, strength and vision. Bent has over 1,200 yards on the ground and it’s no secret that the Pirates need to get him going to be successful. Bent has been making people miss in the open field all year long, now going against the city’s best defense, it’ll be something to watch if he has the same success. And like I mentioned earlier, the battle up front will be crucial in this game.

New York not only had some really impressive Freshman running backs this season but there is a young and hungry group who are freshman ready to make a name for themselves. However, this season not many blew up like

did. Bent was one of the most dominant running backs in the PSAL and earned a couple DI offers for what he put on tape. There is some really good traits their such as speed and change of direction that not many New York players can match in addition to really good patience and vision once he gets the ball. Bent runs with low pads and a good center of gravity and showcased really good contact balance. Bent showcases a really well rounded developed skillset that will only continue to improve as he develops his athleticism.
