Serate was the first prospect I saw this season. In his second game against North Rockland, he had a dominant day on the line for Curtis. The Senior lineman, is committed to Central Connecticut State for college and will continue to play football at the next level.
Serate, can play both sides of the ball, but fits a more defensive profile for Curtis, and at the next level. We were in attendance for his week one game against North Rockland, where he displayed incredible strength, and a high motor. I like his coach ability, as he made some mistakes during that game, but fixed his issues and made big defensive stops right after. Serate, stands at 6’2″ 270-Pounds. He does a great job using his hands, and tracks the ball, keeping his eyes in the backfield at all times. CCSU is getting a beast on their DL next season.
Congratulations Jarrett!

You could argue that Serate was the most valuable player on a Curtis team that won the PSAL Championship – Serate shows good burst off the ball and can win reps by shooting gaps with that burst and get off.
Serate does a fantastic job with his hands getting off blocks. He also does a great job of keeping his eyes on the backfield and finding the ball. His ability to locate, shed, and tackle consistently throughout an entire game stood out when I saw him live.
Serate was a player who consistently impacted the game from the defensive tackle position. His tape shows some splash plays, but seeing multiple full Curtis games (1 Live, others via Sage Media Solutions) full game tape shows that Serate’s impact goes beyond just some of the big plays you see on highlights—consistently eating blocks and getting to the ball from the interior.

Serate was the heart of a Curtis defense that was one of the best in the PSAL this season, leading to the PSAL title and the end of Erasmus Hall’s 5-Year Run – Serate is a player who has a lot of varsity reps to his name being a key part of Curtis’ D-Line since his freshman season.
I saw Curtis play early in person and got a couple of games via Sage Media Solutions – Serate is a good-sized prospect in person – he probably fits best as a 3-tech at the next level. Serate has great use of hands at the point of attack. He shows solid get-off and the ability to knock some guys back, but his hand placement and ability to shed blocks are what sets him apart. I like his film, I think a live evaluation made me like him more as a prospect, as you see some of his hand usage better in person.

The Curtis defense has been exceptional this year – in league play, they have allowed 31 points (7.75ppg), and a big reason for that has been the performance of the defensive line, and it starts with

on the inside – Serate has a lot of experience for a Junior, he ranked as one of the top freshmen in his class but dipped a little as there were no notable improvements in his film sophomore season.
This season, Serate has been exceptional, and it started in a game I saw Curtis play against Moore Catholic to kick off the season – and so far, their only loss of the season. Moore Catholic is stacked with playmakers, and Serate controlled the LOS at the point of attack and made several plays that came off blocks. His ability to anchor and hold the ground consistently has helped the Curtis defense stifle multiple big running offenses so far this season.

One of the strengths of this Curtis team is their defensive line, and Serate will be relied on a ton this season. He is one of the bigger lineman prospects in the PSAL and he’s made a great impact since his freshman year. Serate moves well and registered a bunch of TFLs last year. He will be the anchor of this talented defensive line unit

had the tough task of facing some of the top OL in the state as just a freshman. Right after the CHSFL the PSAL consistently sends OL to the next level especially amongst the top few teams. Serate not only held his own against some of New Yorks best but showed on tape he can use quickness and burst to make plays in the backfield. Serate doesn’t just eat blocks but he gets by blockers and blows up plays. Serate already has good size and figures to continue to grow and add strength and length. There is room to develop his game as a pass rusher but Serate already shows a solid ability to finish the QB and can make plays outside of the pocket. More refined pass rush moves would certainly help his game grow. Overall, the size and the run defense are a big reason he makes the top five but there is potential to grow into a position even higher on this list.

is the biggest riser in our rankings jumping from 19 all the way to 5. Serate was one of the best defensive lineman in the PSAL last season and showcased some really nice athletic traits and flashes of really strong pass rush and run defending skills that can continue to develop and grow. Serate as the size to be a dominant player in years to come for Curtis.

is a prospect you absolutely need to know in the class of 2026. At 6’1, 280 pounds Serate already fits size requirements for FBS/FCS schools as only a freshman. Serate has elite upfield burst and quickness of the snap. Serate does a good job of using lateral agility and good hands to win and shed blockers. Serate can win with strength or speed and his ability to finish runners in the backfield make him a playmaker on defense. Serate can absolutely make some improvements to his game in order to get to that FBS level.

is quickly becoming a star for Curtis High School as the season continues for the PSAL contenders. Serate has a strong base and does not get pushed of the LOS much at all. Serate does a solid job of fighting through double teams and will use his strength and leverage to beat blockers into open gaps. Serate has the size of an interior defensive lineman and moves fairly well for the position. Overall, not many Freshman have continued to get better every week like Serate has. Serate is playing his best football most recently and was one of the bright spots for Curtis in a tough Loss against PSAL powerhouse Erasmus Hall.
