Last season Melendez was slotted as the #3 receiver behind two FBS caliber players.Melendez showed flashes of what he can do but now he’s ready to step into the spotlight and be one of the top targets for this squad. Melendez has put together a great offseason so far. He’s been impressive at showcases and at 7v7’s I’ve seen him at. Melendez is a twitchy receiver that creates a ton of separation. He is a surgical route runner and when he has the ball in his hands he is very slippery.

One of the most exciting prospects to keep track of this offseason. Melendez proved to be one of the top route runners at the event. He separated himself from the rest of the pack due to his smooth routes and explosiveness. He created a ton of separation in the 1v1’s and won most of his reps. Moore Catholic graduated a couple of elite receivers, look out for Melendez to shine in his junior season.

play in the CHSFL AA1 Final this past fall and although all season Melendez did not have a huge role for Moore Catholic the athleticism and promise is there. Melendez did not see the field often due to Moore Catholic’s deep group of playmakers at WR/DB. With a few graduations this year Melendez should be in line for more work this season. Melendez as really good quickness and burst. Melendez can be one of the those all around threats on the field who can play multiple positions on offense and win with the ball in his hands. As a defender Melendez showed in some of his youth/middle school tape that he has good ball skills and is willing to be a physical presence as a defender.
