We saw elite talent prove why they are highly touted in New York and a bunch of players who put themselves on the map in this event. Here is part two and a long list of honorable mentions from the Elite V Showcase. What a way to start the summer!
Once again at this event, Spellman clocked in as one of the fastest players. According to Catapult Sports, Spellman hit 22.58 MPH as his top speed. That was the second-fastest time recorded at the event. Along with his speed, came fantastic grabs. Spellman showcased strong hands and the ability to make difficult catches. His acceleration allowed him to leave defenders in the dust in 1v1’s. Spellman blazed downfield and proved to be one of the camp’s top deep threats.
Highlights
Last year at this event Valentine was unstoppable. He had another great showing here in 2024. The AAA lineman of the year was as advertised. He was great with his hands and was easily one of the strongest players at this showcase. Valentine’s athleticism at 320 pounds is almost unfair at certain points. He remains one of the top returning prospects in New York.
Highlights
One of the most exciting prospects to keep track of this offseason. Melendez proved to be one of the top route runners at the event. He separated himself from the rest of the pack due to his smooth routes and explosiveness. He created a ton of separation in the 1v1’s and won most of his reps. Moore Catholic graduated a couple of elite receivers, look out for Melendez to shine in his junior season.
Highlights
Last year at this showcase, I was impressed by Mason Cuccia Mason Cuccia 6’1″ | 150 lbs | QB FDR-Hyde Park | 2025 State NY . This year, he was one of the top quarterbacks at the event once again. He strung together some excellent throws. I loved how poised he was and he ended up being one of the more accurate QBs at the showcase. I’m looking forward to seeing him have a big senior year for FDR.
Highlights
Easily one of the top defensive linemen at the event. Mendez built off a good sophomore year with a great way to start the summer. Quickness and a big burst are what I saw from Mendez. He was one of the top edge rushers at this event. Good hands, solid body control, and was ultra-competitive. All of these traits allowed him to be dominant.
Highlights
One of the shiftiest prospects at the entire event. He was unguardable on Saturday and made a case to be one of the top WRs at the event after all of his production. He’s a twitchy receiver and he arguably made the catch of the day. Williams beat his defender downfield and somehow hauled in a pass in the corner of the endzone where he barely kept his foot in for the completion.
Highlights
Davis has been getting some serious D1 interest and we saw why on Saturday. He made an argument as the top edge rusher at this event. He’s next in line for the great Erasmus Hall defensive line products. At 6 foot 4 and 225 pounds, he has an exciting frame to work with and he uses it well. He’s long, quick, and technically sound. Look out for him to be one of the top players in the PSAL this season.

Justin Ramos
Justin Ramos
Ramos had some of the tougher matchups in the 1v1 portion of the showcase and he thrived. Ramos was able to win a solid amount of those reps or force the receiver to make a tough catch. He made plays on the ball and used his length to his advantage. At 6’2 and 185 pounds, he can play anywhere in the secondary this upcoming season. Ramos will be a key piece for a St Peter’s team with title aspirations
One of my favorite offensive linemen. He was picked to play in the “best vs best” reps at the end of the showcase and he overpowered his defensive lineman. At 6 foot 4 and 310 pounds, he has loads of potential.
