Lewis ranks as my 46th best player in the 2027 class, and comes in as a top player to watch. He has outstanding hands, along with good body control and an IQ, which is on full display. Standing at 5’10” 170-Pounds, the Curtis DB, is name to watch given his ability to make plays on the ball on both sides of the field, and his ability to make sharp cuts to avoid tackles and take off for big gains.

Akai Lewis Akai Lewis 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH State NY played a strong role on a PSAL-winning Curtis team. I really like his range from the safety position, and the ball skills he shows on both sides of the ball stand out on tape. Lewis had a role as an SAF and Slot WR and shows strong hands all over his tape.
He flashes some good movement skills. He is more of a smooth mover than twitchy and bursty guys, but everything he does, from transitioning out of backpedal to simple cuts running routes, looks really clean.
