Another Staten Island prospect stayed into the top 100. Gomez fell around few spots down the order in the Re-Rank, but also kept his same grade. He holds one offer from Wagner, and I am expecting more schools to give the Curtis Warrior a Call. The 5’10” 215-Pound prospect was impressive last season, and was easily a breakout player. His frame is massive and perfect for a RB showcasing speed and physicality out of the backfield. He is also useable in the pass game, displaying good hands, and the ability to turn upfield and turn on the jets for big gains. In space he is tricky to tackle, and typically requires more than one player going after him. His burst out of the backfield is impressive and he can hit his top speed in a flash leaving LB’s in the dust. Footwork he excels at and he is a balanced runner, staying upright and attacking the ground and the opposing defense with every rep. Gomez is a player I can see bringing in more offers this fall, and is a guy I never want to see running towards me on any field.

Gomez is a massive physical prospect, who showcases elite strength and the ability to break tackles and force multiple defenders to have to come and tackle him. He has excellent vision, and showcases the ability to slow the play down, to make cuts and carver through holes across the LOS. I like his receiving game, and he is a strong route runner, who can be used as a WR when needed. Gotez is a quick prospect who I like in open space, and is a balanced runner, who shows good body control, and footwork which he can use to make tacklers miss.

It was hard to believe that Gomez was just a freshman last year. The big and talented running back had a terrific first season at the varsity level. He immediately became a key factor in the Curtis offense and he was a huge reason why the Warriors found their groove in the middle of the season. Gomez was running people over in his film and was one of the best power backs in the PSAL, he is expected to have a terrific sophomore year.

Gomez is the main back of a strong 1-2 punch at Curtis and he provides the style of running the excels on early downs and in short yardage/redzone areas. Gomez has solid measurables and the ability to hit the 5’10 200+ mark before leaving HS.

Gomez is a physical shoulder defender’s chest type of runner; there is not a player who shows a more violent running style on tape than Gomez. For a player of his size and physical running style he does flash some quick feet and the ability to sidestep or make quick cuts outside and get good angles towards the sidelines.
