Expert Analysis

Andrade is an RB/DB/KR prospect who can make a lot of things happen with the ball in his hands but also shows some good things as a defensive back where his ball skills and instincts stand out.
Andrade plays with a great motor and is a very willing tackler. Defensively, he flashes some good closing speed coming downhill. Offensively, I like his burst and vision as a ball carrier—he runs with the same motor you see defensively.
You see good athleticism on tape, and the positional versatility can be a big asset, especially his ability to make plays on special teams.
Andrade just recently announced he is moving from Monsignor Farrell to Curtis for his senior season.

Andrade was a really strong sophomore performer for Monsignor Farrell against very tough competition. The WR/RB/KR/PR prospect can be involved in the offense in a ton of different ways. Andrade is really quick and twitchy; he excels in open space where he can make guys miss. Andrade has some explosiveness to his game, and I think if he hits the 185+ mark, he will do his best work as an RB/returner at the next level.

Andrade did a little bit of everything last season, and he was just a sophomore. He registered a rushing touchdown, kick return touchdown, and a pick-six last season. He impacts the game in all three phases which you don’t always see in the AAA. Farrell will look to get him the ball in space this season, expect him to be a big threat in the return game as well. On defense, he brings a ton of energy. Andrade laid some hard hits last season and he’ll be all over the field making tackles this fall.

Will Andrade was a new player to me and he won a ton of reps with some really good quickness. Andrade performed well and did a good job winning some reps against the top DBs. His quickness and twitch are serious traits that will translate as he develops as a player.

is the kid you are looking for. Make no mistake, Will is not afraid to take a hit. If anything, he’s ready to deliver the hit every opportunity he gets. A back that is very hard to take down, Will deploys the stiff arms to keep his distance from defenders and runs low through the tackles so he can lower his shoulder for incoming defenders. Another freshman I have very high hopes for in the future, Will may also get recruited as a safety with how much he enjoy delivering the blow to ball carriers.

Andrade has the speed on the freshman level to out run entire defenses. He possesses quick feet and has a subtle shiftiness to him. These two factors lead Andrade to be a smooth, fluid runner. He does a nice job absorbing contact, keeping his balance, and continuing to run as if he was unimpeded. In dual-back sets, Andrade is a willing blocker, throwing nasty lead blocks for his teammate. Much of Andrade’s film show him getting to the perimeter quickly. For him to flourish at the varsity level, he we want to see him run in between the tackles, running inside first and then bouncing it to the perimeter.
Andrade is a great young talent waiting in the wings. With a full offseason in the weigh room and a summer’s worth of varsity practice, there is no doubt Andrade will be in the Casey’s lineup this fall. Given his talents and versatility, it is just more a question of “where?”
