Kaden Clay Kaden Clay 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Frederick Douglass | 2025 State KY is a player who has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to stand out last week. The senior linebacker played a key role in the Broncos’ win over Madison Central. Clay is very impressive against the run, showing the ability to read his keys quickly then come downhill in a hurry to meet the ball carrier and make the tackle before they can get going. Kaden finished last Friday’s game with eight tackles and four tackles for loss. He also showed the ability to put pressure on the quarterback, finishing the game with one sack. Clay is committed to Southern Illinois where I can see him playing a key role in their defense once he gets there.

Another Frederick Douglass linebacker that continued to stand out this past season is Kaden Clay Kaden Clay 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Frederick Douglass | 2025 State KY . Clay lines up at inside linebacker where he is very impressive against the run. He does a great job of reading his keys and flowing to the ball carrier quickly to make tackles in the open field. Clay finished his junior season with 53 tackles and 8.5 tackles for loss in 12 games. He also proved to be reliable against the pass, finishing the year with five sacks and a team-high two interceptions, returning one of them for a touchdown. Kaden currently holds offers from Miami (OH) and Akron, and I expect more to come his way as he is a Division I caliber talent at linebacker.

Joining Busson in the talented Frederick Douglass linebacker core is fellow junior Kaden Clay Kaden Clay 6'1" | 225 lbs | LB Frederick Douglass | 2025 State KY . After missing last season due to an injury, Clay will be looking to have a breakout season in 2023. He is a physical inside linebacker that does a great job of reading his keys and coming downhill while fighting through blocks to get to the ball carrier. Once he gets to the ball, he is a very reliable tackler in the open field. Clay has also shown an impressive ability to blitz against the pass, using his speed to shoot through his gap before opposing offensive linemen can react. Kaden currently holds an offer from Miami (OH) and I expect more to come his way as he puts together more film this season.

He plays inside linebacker and is very impressive against the run. Clay does a great job of reading his keys and coming downhill quickly to fill his gap. He also plays with a ton of physicality, showing the ability to fight through blocks and finish his tackles in the open field. Clay has shown the ability to time the snap count perfectly to shoot his gap when asked to blitz. Kaden currently holds an offer from Miami (OH) and I expect more to come his way as his role continues to grow on a talented Frederick Douglass defense.
