Senior and Oklahoma State commit Carter Langenderfer Carter Langenderfer 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB Owasso | 2026 State OK is definitely going to be a name to watch for the Rams this season, considering how young they are on the defensive side of the ball. Like we mentioned earlier, the Owasso defense is young but the secondary has a lot of talent returning and that conversation starts with the Oklahoma State commit. Langenderfer first got on our radar during the offseason before his junior season. He has climbed the charts and has become one of the top defensive backs in the state’s 2026 class, and that’s a very deep class. Langender will lead an experienced secondary into the 2025 season, looking to cause problems for opponents.

It was around this time last year that we first really watched Owasso’s Carter Langenderfer Carter Langenderfer 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB Owasso | 2026 State OK and realized that he not only needed to be on our radar but he needed to be relatively high. He first stood out to us in several 7v7 tournaments and then he followed it up with a terrific junior season and that earned the attention of college coaches making him another 2026 DB with multiple offers. Langenderfer is part of an Owasso secondary that has the potential to be absolutely nasty in 2025. He is terrific at the safety position and his instincts are outstanding. It’s only been a year of writing about the Owasso standout but he’s definitely someone that has a very high upside.

Anytime you’re ranking prospects, it’s always fun to go back in five years once they’re in college to see where they are at. In the 2026 class, it would not surprise us at all if Owasso’s Carter Langenderfer Carter Langenderfer 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB Owasso | 2026 State OK becomes one of those guys that we look back and think he might be one of the best overall guys in this class. The ceiling is incredibly high for this Owasso standout and we suggest that he could be that guy because he’s just scratching the surface on what he is as a prospect. We were really impressed every time we watched him in person this offseason and he’s continued that momentum this fall. And as we start looking ahead to this offseason, we’d be very surprised if Langenderfer doesn’t absolutely blow up on the recruiting trail.

Langenderfer is a defensive back prospect that we are very high on moving forward after getting a chance to watch him in person quite a bit this offseason. The Owasso product has a nose for the ball and good instincts in the secondary. The Owasso coaches also believe that he has what it takes to take that next step and be an impact player for the Rams this fall. Langenderfer has all the tools to becoming one of the top defensive backs in this class. Now, he gets an opportunity to prove that on the field.

Owasso 2026 defensive back Carter Langenderfer Carter Langenderfer 6'2" | 190 lbs | DB Owasso | 2026 State OK is on the shortlist of defensive prospects we’re most excited to see in person this weekend. Langenderfer had a really good showing up in Springfield last weekend with Sooner 7’s 15U squad. And as we’ve mentioned a few times in these preview articles, that 15U squad is absolutely loaded and this Owasso Ram was one of the better standouts last week. From the safety position, Langenderfer has the potential to be an absolute game-changer and have a massive impact during the tourney.
